With McNally now out for most if not all of the season I think Martyn Ridyard will definitely still be our 1st choice 6 with Brierley filling in at full back.

Originally thought 6 - 8 weeks but now looking more like 6 months before he will be back in training. Plus time to get back up to match fitness. Apparently it is an LCL injury which is estimated at 6-12 months. Huge blow for us. Seemed really innocuous at the time too, he had a collision with Worthington trying to stop a Wire try and got carried off. Worthington got KO'd and a load of stitches in his head and McNally's knee has gone. Costly pre season game!

McNally was voted player of the season last year and full back is the one position we don't have much cover in so it is a real blow. Pownall or Brierley will likely be filling in at FB unless we can find a suitable replacement to sign.

I never like the sound of these 'will split opinion' type of signings, to me it always suggests we should set ourselves up for disappointment. I was getting my hopes it for Morgan Escare but surely that wouldn't divide opinions?

Jamal Idris left Penrith at the end of the year and is still without a club. Maybe his leave from the game wasn't as prolonged as some thought.
