TBH looking at fixtures pre-season so far theyve gone pretty much how I thought with exception of salford game. I expect us to lose to Wire home and away and lose to both hulls away but beat them both at home. We're certainly not in a brilliant position if we lose both wire and kr away but only a couple of points below where I thought we'd be. If we pick up points against the smaller (no disrespect intended) teams and get home wins against the two hulls and salford and maybe an upset against one of bigger teams then I reckon we'll end up about 8th. A small improvement on last year but still an improvement and something we can build on next year. IMO those predicting anything above 6th this year were being over-optimistic/ unrealistic.

I can't understand this logic of expecting to lose to a team away but then beat them at home. The notion of home and away makes very little difference to the players.

not impression players keep giving us in press interviews. And how many times have we seen a vocal home crowd sway a ref (admittedly not best argument to use for us as we're way too quiet, but sts and hull kr use it to good effect at home in particular).

It has no effect on the players if they play home and away its a question i've asked players before Big Joe said when on the pitch you dont even know the crowd is their.

| Have to agree to disagree on this one as I've seen teams step up a gear plenty of times over years when crowd gets behind them. maybe we don't benefit as much from it as other teams because our crowd is so quiet in general.

| It won't be season over, but to be languishing in 11th or so half way through the season will be far from ideal. Its time we strung together 4 or 5 wins.
When is the last time we won more than 2 or 3 games on the trot?

| Sadly as regards the Bull's these days im not so confident of us beating any super league side. I havent seen anything in us that suggests we can mount a winning run and once again I dont feel that we will make the play off's. Sorry for being negative but until we recruit and retain players worth having this is about as good as it will get !

| Short memories.
We won the last 5 games of 2009, finishing the form team of the competition. Only Stains losing at home to Catalans denied us a playoff spot.

Wasn't that run basically when the pressure was off and it looked like there was no chance of us getting in playoffs. I won't take away that good run, but as i remember playoffs seemed out of our grasp anyway, which they were.
Anyway, i can understand people believing we will lose away and win at home. That has pretty much always been the case for me with the likes of Saints and Wigan. Can't really say i think the same of either Hull side though. Recent history over there though is pretty bad.

Fair point well made. However I haven't seen anything from us that suggests we will be repeating that run of victories anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong and regardless of my views ill be supporting the lads come victory or defeat anyway.
I just long for the day when I attend games with the confidence of us securing a victory against a top side.

| Was just answering the question, not offering comment.
We strung together five games without loss in March/April 2010 too. Until it all went tîts up when Macca took the England job and Toerag got injured.
