However along the same lines, how does Semi get dropped but not Sheriffe?'"
Think the answer may be in the fact that we mentioned they were all carrying injuries. Suspect he has taken the easy way out and the 'dropping' is little more than spin.

I kind of hope so. Because if he honestly thinks Semi needed dropping more than Sheriffe, and that Jeffries needed dropping more than Deacon, we really need another coach.

| Lets be honest. Koppy is a long way short of being a good prop and doesnt give any impact. If this spurs him on to better things then it can only be good for us.

Which team have you been watching?
Bar Lynchy, Koppy has been one of our best best props this season and has turned into a very decent player from his mediocre previous seasons.

Whilst he may have improved, very decent player he is not. For a man of his size he should be making way more ground than he does.

That's going a little far. Kopczak has been ok, but he's not been a patch on Lynch or Scruton and to a lesser extent, Burgess when he's been at prop.
The only thing I will say is that I don't expect him to be at that level right now. As long as he keeps improving and doing fairly well in the meantime, I'm ok with it. He's only young and only just got in the team regularly.

| What I don't get is why the need to put the 'they were dropped' spin into the mix?
If Jeffries and Semi were injured, then just say so and move on. Kopczak is a slightly different case as he is a young player establishing himself at first team level and was probably due a rest anyway - there's certainly no shame in that, given his improvement this year.
Trying to spin it to make out that they've all been training like demons this week - which would appear to certainly not be the case with Jeffries, as he is likely to be still injured for this weekend - is baffling
Is it to somehow bolster this idea of a united squad, who are all totally 100% behind the coaching team?

That's unfair on Kopczak imo, who is one of the ones always putting the effort in.
How can he criticize Jeffries when Deacon hasn't put in good performance all season? I know it says he has a niggle, but Deacon should be the one who's dropped.'" ]
To be honest i`d dropped the lot of them and start bringing in some of the young ones now, basically we have nothing to lose now. droping deacon and newton is a must from now onwards.

| TBH this seems to be all spin from McNamara. He seems to be making statements he thinks the fans want to here. Even tough it appears the three players were all injured.

| What exactly are these 'dividends' it will pay?
The season is effectively over, what does it matter if the dropped players have blinders for the rest of the year?

| Reading it I'm not sure Kopczak is being criticised for effort, nor should he be, but his tackling technique needs some work and for all we know he's not been playing to the game plan (what ever it might be).

| What a masterstroke from McNamara. The innovation being shown here byhim goes against everything I ever thought of him.
After all, who ever thought about dropping underperforming players before? What a genius!
