| Quote: phillgee "well then there should have been talk between the defence as to who had who. i doubt he would have ignored a shout.'" He didn't need a shout if he had stopped on the outside of Sykes, Menzies and Deacon who were sliding across it would have stopped Fox scoring.

On the replay all three looked out of position to me creating a two on one outside meaning that Sheriffe had to go for the ball.

| The incident was analysed pretty well on Boots N All last night. Sheriffe was totally at fault. The three inside defenders had it deal with and were sliding out. He came in.
Either those three inside defenders weren't following the correct game plan and he was (unlikely) or it was Sheriffe's fault.

if a sees his winger coming in when he shouldn't then he needs a shout.

| Wow.
I am pretty surprised that Rikki has been flogged (on here) for allowing a try past his wing.
It was his first game for you and a try was scored.
Every single winger in the world, even the very very best, have had tries scored past them, where if they had stayed out on the wing it may have been stopped.
Leave the guy alone at least for a good few matches to see how he goes.
But do remember your fans played merry hell about Vainakolo in his first season with you (dropping the ball etc) and look how he turned out.
Before you all have a pop at me, I am not comparing Rikki with Volcano, all I am saying is that the guy needs time to settle in and find his feet.

| I Agree that he was totally at fault for the try, he was also very poor in attack and left Menzies stranded without an option on several occasions when Menzies was in the centre he was glued to his wing and wasn't available for the pass or he'd often overrun it.
I would also agree that he needs time, but I must ask why all these players need time when they've just had a long off season training together. These kind of signings should be about ready on day one, otherwise what is the point of them? We might as well give the kids a chance who will obviously also need time, so why as fans are we expected to give reasonably seasoned pro's time when I believe many of us would be happy to afford that luxury to a promising youngster.
I'm puzzled by it I must admit, it can only mean that our youth teams really are full of poor players!

| Looks like Rikki made an instinctive mistake. All wingers have done this, no big deal so long as it doesn't become a common occurance.
I'd like to see more from him in attack but it's early days. As a one time winger of no real ability I know the importance of support play and reading the game. The best wingers popped up in support of the playmakers and forwards who broke the line. Our wingers and fullbacks could improve this aspect of their play, as has been said it's no good just standing on the wing as you deprive yourself and your teammates of attacking options.

It was a perfect example of a sliding defence if they had been operating a man on man defence then Sheriffe could have been excused but they weren't.

| He was in no mans land and he was made to look a plonker, that said if the pass had been level and not 6 foot forward he may well of got back accross to make the tackle.

| While he made this c0ck up he did make up for it in the second half when he prevented a try.

| whilst getting sucked in for the try was disappointing thinks its too early to judge sheriffe yet. It was a pretty heavy pitch which is never brilliant for the faster players and Semi looked to struggle a bit too at times. Give him a couple of games to settle then Halley will back off loan and we'll have option to replace either sheriffe or platt, or they may both improve and keep halley out of team.

| I can't believe we have a thread on him already! Give the guy a chance to settle to impress! He isn't the first winger to be sucked in and he won't be the last!
