Danny is an excellent no.13 imo with, for a forward, good hands and light feet, and he's a reasonable 'emergency' back up for elsewhere, and to be honest he gets nothing but praise from me for sticking his hand up and saying, "I'll do that, boss".

I think where I part company from official policy is in the description of 'emergency'. Fair enough Jimmy hasn't been in charge for all that time but Danny has been our 'emergency' half for what, two years is it, or more? -if it isn't, it certainly seems like it. Not having sufficient halves in the squad - or not using the ones you have - isn't emergency use, it pretty much comes over as planned. With a big squad like ours it was said by many that we were light in the halves [even with the dual purpose full back and under used hookers] but the club brought in an extra prop even though we have props who haven't even played a game. I bow down to the professionals but I find it more than strange.

I said O'Brien looked knackered walking onto the pitch, I was only half joking. Jimmy must have a reason for not rotating the squad more but from everything he's shown it's doubtful he's going to let on to the press.
Given the disruption in the half backs due to injury my guess would be he's trying to keep consistency in other positions to avoid changing everything, but if so it's not working any longer with too many players looking jaded.
