Then you need to run the story from the perspective of the initiative being likely to fail. You're quite correct that the BBC can't be seen to be helping you advertise; however, what at first seems to be a negative take can in fact be used as a way of appealing to a mass audience. Trust me, it can work. |

Think about it though.
Hypothetically, if we did have 9,000 pledges and the club turned round and gave em for £60 anyway, that still doesn't mean only 9,000 are gonna buy season tickets. There's undoubtedly people out there that don't want to promise (pledge) to buy one right now, but still may buy one later on. Numerous reasons for doing that including dodgy finances or just wanting to see how it goes first (I don't understand it, but it was proved at City that people do that).
We could end up having 9,000 pledges and still get 10,000 adult season ticket holders. |

Good call and yes very true.
Only speaking to a current season ticket on the phone yesterday, when I asked him if he had made the pledge, he said no and that he was waiting for the Marquee signing to arrive.
Maybe now that Leon is on the back page of today's T&A he'll be straight on the phone to make that pledge. |
