| Quote: Ewwenorfolk "Brown deserves a mention.
Played very well and although he got himself on the scoresheet, his chase back and try saving tackle was the play of the game for me.
Game was in the balance at that point and he bust a gut to get back and force the knock on.'"
I’ve mentioned Joe Brown in the Brough thread. He’s one of our most improved players this year. He’s having a great season so far.

I was one of the people bagging Brown after the Featherstone and Sheffield defeats as I thought he was bloody poor. However I was wrong to say he was crap. As he has proven, he’s been class ever since. Certainly one of our better performers.

| I think Brown and a few others needed to catch up with players at other clubs on fitness and game sharpness. Once we were allowed to train properly and got some form together he's really come on.
I was impressed with his pace yesterday particularly the cover tackle to prevent Keiron Dixon scoring.

| Yeah I was one of those after the Sheffield game who thought that could be curtains for him, despite me really rating him and probably needed to be put out on loan somewhere to get some confidence. Don't think he was helped with him playing 4 different positions for us in the few games he's been here, including the "none position" he was used for in the Sheffield game.
Was a brave call by Kear to stick by him for the Fax game and he hasn't looked back since being able to get a run of games in one position.
That Dixon tackle was a game winner for me, despite being early on. You saw us completely lift as a team after that, while Yorks heads seem to go down.

| That's because they expect Dixon to score if he gets into the clear. And that's because he usually does, as he is definitely a bit quick. Superb from Brown and my moment of the game, tbh.

| Brown also had to cut across from the opposite wing too. He's got some serious pace.

| Quote: RagingBull ""Kear out" said quite a lot of regular posters after the Sheffield game. I raised this a few weeks ago. 1 brave brave person was man enough to come out and say he was wrong in calling for Kears head.
Now we are 6 unbeaten im giving the other Kear bashers the chance to hold their hand up and admit they were wrong.'"
Did they? I don't remember it like that at all. After Featherstone and Sheffield it was entirely right that some people questioned what on earth was going on. Getting desire in your players belly is a JK trademark but it was missing against Sheffield big time. I don't remember anything being said that wasn't fair at the time.

It doesnt matter how you remember it, its written in black and white. Numerous posters calling for his head. It was absolute madness at the time and looks even more rediculous now.

I honestly think I'd remember "numerous" people on here calling for his head but if that's what you believe who am I to say. I'm sure others can gently tell me if I missed the whole Jk out campaign.

| When York signed Cuthbertson and we signed Fleming I groaned inwardly. I know it's early days but Fleming has impressed me, adding steel, work rate and size. I thought Dan was excellent yesterday whereas Cuthbertson struggled behind a pack which lacked legs. Our forwards look like a pack, whereas York's more stellar names didn't.

I think it was more of a thing on the Facebook group, to be honest

| I was heavily critical of the team after the first 2 games.
They’ve really turned it around and deserve a lot of praise.
Kear is a top bloke and a very good coach too. Experience counts for a lot in this league.

| When it became clear that our pre season training was hampered by the lack of contact sessions due to covid guidelines - not necessarily followed by others - that explained our slow start to some degree.
It wasn't helped by us looking really gassed early on too. We looked far fitter on Sunday.

Yeah I was impressed with our fitness against York. Think this showed in the kick-chases. When York put a high kick up, there was no one within 10 metres of Pickersgill. When Danny Brough put a bomb up, we had 3-4 players each time busting a gut to put pressure on the catcher.
I was also impressed how good of a TEAM we looked. We look to have a real balance. Experience of Brough/Crossley. Plenty of energy with the younger players such as Scurr, Doyle, Robson. Consistency and hard work in B. England (who looks a real find) & Murphy.

| I will stick my head up and say I was one of those calling for Kear's head. Fair to say results look like proving me wrong but i did say I'd like to see how we got on against the likes of York, Fev and Toulouse before I say I got it wrong.
Still a long way to go but I will say the performances have been getting better and I hope it continues and the team/coach prove me wrong.
