Quote: Bullseye "Positives – He can kick 40-20s, pass superbly, back up very well, occasionally hit hard in defence and boot conversions from the touchline under extreme pressure. He will put his hand up when others go missing. He’ll give 100%.
Negatives – He is infuriatingly inconsistent, often within the same 80mins. For every killer pass he can throw one into touch. For every 40-20 one can go directly out. For every big tackle there is a feeble shoulder grab. For every touchline conversion under pressure he’ll miss a sitter.
He’s be criminally misused at Bradford. He’s a backrow forward who’s been forced to play as a playmaker. As a result none of his skills have been fully formed because he’s trying to do too much. He’s sacrificed a lot of his career by trying to do everything and filling holes made thanks to our awful recruitment and off field mismanagement. It’s testament to the bloke that he’s been with us this long.
I said he needs a move. Wherever he goes he needs to be in a side where he can concentrate on playing in the backrow and not be the “go to guy” for everything.'"
Spot on Bullseye.
To quote Jimmy Lowes, Danny is a, "really good rugby player". He's [inot[/i a half though and he's wasted the last three years [almost] proving it. I say 'almost' because he has had his moments, even in that position. Criminally misused doesn't tell the half of it. New club, new regime and a new Danny Addy - just what he needs imo.
