Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

The people in the know seem to think we will lose players when the new company exists, maybe we will. Maybe we do have to rebuild and if so we will do it again. The important thing is we have a club to rebuild, but something has to happen quickly. How can we rebuild if we don't know which league we will be in and therefore what the budget will be.
But there must surely be a plan because if we go into liquidation how does SLE/RFL get its money back?'"

The plan is what I posted earlier, you are essentially a Championship club now even if somebody very rich offers to buy you with no guarantees in the next couple of weeks
The RFL will already be looking for your replacements, as they will need to give that club as much time as possible to prepare
Welcome to the ' Doldrums '

| Is anyone prepared to act as a figurehead for a newco? I'd suggest Simon Foster if he is willing-- one of the first occasions when I agree with Stevo.
Some possibilities follow-- I'm sure I'll be shouted down and I don't pretend to have all the answers. But at least please base your criticism on your reading of the past
If the council can provide a meeting place-- St Georges would have some historical resonance-- a meeting should be called involving Bullbuilder (who could recruit new members at the meeting), a spokesman for the League and anyone from the bids who was prepared to put their heads over the parapets. The others rumoured to have expressed interest (Tordoff, Greenwoods ?)could have an open invite from the council publicised by the T & A.
Let's talk and decide a Plan A (trying to stay in Superleague) and plan B (being in the Championship). Some think the latter is already decided , others hope that the other clubs want to sustain our membership. We simply don't know-- it's speculation however informed. So let's be flexible and plan for either.
There should be no expectatrion that the centre can give any financial assistance (they've given enough already) but the assistance in terms of advice they offer all clubs will be available.
We have a public offer of £50k from the departed leader of the ABC bid-- I believe that was made in good faith. If it wasn't then the bad publicity which would result from a withdrawal of the offer is not worth contemplating for a local businessman. Other local firms should be "persuaded" to make similar contributions to a Fighting Fund.
Whatever the misgivings of some I believe individual fans (and many from the broader RL community) would pledge (not pay until we have a possible deal) into that Fund
If we have a trusted figurehead, the League could reveal to him/her what the true financial position is. For myself, if for example Simon Foster told me the broad picture, I would trust that message
I honestly believe that Bullbuilder could offer a vehicle for the fans to be involved in future ownership. Not a pure supporters trust model but some kind of hybrid.

Please don't reply, as you are now on 'ignore'.'"
It’s not me that needs to contact the RLF/SLE; it’s your supporters that should be objecting to such a deal!!
All the right/morally minded Bulls supporters should not allow this to happen, raise a petition of objection, tell SLE you will not turn up to watch a SLE owned club that has the potential to destroy our game by setting a precedent that can never be followed with any other club.
It’s in your hands, and if it goes ahead and you accept it then you are all as bad as the RFL/SLE.

unless you have a spare £1.5m+ under your matress at home or know somebody who does then yes you will have to wait and see what happens. The RFL are in the driving seat now so it depends on what their plans are.

Like you I have been amazed about just how in our hands this whole affair has been. My hands are so full I'm struggling to grip.

Until this post i gave you the benefit of the considerable doubt, but frankly you cannot possibly seriously believe this stuff? You make no sense, and sound like you're on drugs. Listen, the proposed deal is a proposal unanimously agreed upon BY EVERY CLUB AND THE RFL. That includes whatever club YOU support.
So how many signatures have you got on your petition of objection, telling SLE you will not turn up to watch a SLE owned club that has the potential to destroy our game by setting a precedent that can never be followed with any other club?
It’s in your hands every bit as much as it is in our hands, and if it goes ahead and you accept it then you are "as bad as the RFL/SLE". Though I await with unbearable expectation you revealing to the world what your alternative is.
Whatever your aims, you seem to be doing feck all about it, and so posting on here whingeing about your half-baked theories is either trolling, or as much as makes no difference, and is certainly utterly pointless as even my goldfish would know that in fact the fans you berate have as much power to stop the SLE acquisition as it has, even if we were made enough to accept your basic premise, which in fact is bollox. You ought to read the SLE press releases and understand what it is they are actually doing before spouting any more drivel..

FA, (s)he has a revered place in my internet history; 12 years on message boards and (s)he's the first person I've felt the need to put on ignore. I've got three or four others now, but like Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong he will be long remembered - a trail blazer!!

I understand perfectly well what SLE are doing, and that all the clubs (supposedly) voted for the SLE take over.
What you and your blinkered colleagues can’t see is that this is dangerous for the game and for Bradford Bulls, who is going to come forward and buy Bradford now?
A buyer would have to........
A, Buy the ground back at 1.5m or lease it of the RFL (forever!).
B, Pay back the wages paid out by the RFL/SLE.
C, Pay back or not receive any SKY money next season as you have already had it!!!!
D, Re-Build a team from scratch, as the RFL will not pay massive wages next season.
If Bradford are not sold on by the RFL within a couple of months then I fear the worst for rugby league in this country, you tell me how all the other clubs can support a money pit of a club!!!
Throwing good money after bad has become a dangerous habit of the RFL in recent years, this take over makes no financial sense what so ever, and stinks of RFL incompetence again!
If the RFL did not own the Bulls ground then this would have been laughed out of red hall, the RFL are trying recover as much money as they can and save face, the first mistake was to buy the ground and attempt to cover up the poor state of affairs at the Bulls.
The Bulls have been a great team, but it is not up to the rest of SL to save you!
I support Hull KR not SLE or Bradford, I see no value in what the SL is doing!
