We don't notice him even when he does play for us to be honest but yes, he's been injured for the early part of the season, came back, then was injured again.

depended entirely on the match. on a good day he was very good. problem was all the times he didnt turn up. he's very inconsistent. which TBF the wakey fans told us when we signed him originally. Wouldnt mind him back til end of season if only to give us more options and has to be an improvement on sykes at SO at very least.

| If we sign Ben Jeffries, Kyle Briggs might as well go back to Featherstone

If it's true, or indeed we sign any other half back, then yes you do get the feeling Potter does not want to play Briggs for whatever reason.

| Surely Briggs and Southernwood need to be forming a partnership in the reserves? Doesn't help us for the future to have them playing in two different teams.

Chev Walker already plays for you, due to good behaviour.

that thoughts crossed my mind too. maybe potters thinking a bit longer term than rest of us and is trying to keep them together as a partnership this season before introducing them as a settled pair next year. Although I'd like to see them both getting some 1st team gametime this year given injuries.

| the stats say it all about both Mason and Jeffries. plenty more of the 2011 raw stats on the superleague site, I have standardised them by making them errors per game played this season, and missed tackles as a % of tackles made. Mason has high in the go forward stats, so even if he doesnt look as if hes enthusiastic, he would strengthen the side, Jeffries stats v Briggs are a lot more solid and would provide Herbert - who is high in the tackles per game - with a regular partner. Sorry some of hte stats have indented, but you should be able to read it.
not come out as clear as I wold like, errors/game is first stat eg Mason 0.3, second stat is % tackles missed eg Whitehead 12.
% tackle
errors missed
Mason 0.3 8
Whitehead 1.5 12
olbison 0.1 13
Elima 1.2 4
Sibbit 0.1 5
langley 0 5
Donaldson 0.5 7
Addy 1 10
Bateman 1 0
Scrutton 0.3 5
Lynch 0.7 1
Kopzak 0.8 6
Hargreaves 0.5 4
Burgess 0.8 10
Crossley 0 10
Diskin 0.5 5
L'Estrange 1.1 10
O'Brien 0 11
Herbert 2.1 10

Sykes 1.2 19
Royston 0.6 14
Kearney 1.4 36

| Not sure what the stats prove. Errors per game is fair enough but without knowing how many tackles have been attempted, the missed tackle total doesn't mean much. If mason has only attempted 8 tackles and missed them all then that's not great. But if he only missed 8 tackles but averages 40 per game then that's different. Hard to compare roles really.

Except he states that the figure is a percentage. So surely 8% of his tackles were missed rather than 8 missed tackles?

Others/MINOTAUR.JPG Crude and slow Whino, your attack was no better than that of a clumsy child.:Others/MINOTAUR.JPG |

| I personally quite liked Jeffries. he was always high on try assists had a neat kicking game and some pace....
If it is true Briggs must be on his way...

It is definitely a possibility. I suppose everything is pretty much speculation on why Briggs isn't being selected for the first team, until someone (i.e. Potter) comes out and specifically says what the reason is.
Otherwise, I suppose time will tell.
