There's also the somewhat proactive activity of the smashing the internal water pipes. I'll dig out the photos.

| Quote: Bullseye "The difference between the Westfield view of the future and the Council view of the future needs some explanation.
INO the Council have made an awful mess of this. The re-development should have been complete before the recession started. Now it looks increasingly like it'll never happen.
In the meantime more businesses go to the wall in town. I was at the Love Apple on Friday night a couple of weeks back, there were only 10 of us in the whole place. Pubs nearby were equally empty. In noticed Walkabout has shut. It's only a matter of time before there are only a couple of pubs left in the city centre. The place has died on its backside over the past 10 years.'"
Thought it had shut down ages ago.

Some shots rlhererl but I'm sure I've seen others. It's pretty obviously been proactively unmaintained rather than just left though.

At one time I would have been really up for that. Sadly my apathy for most things Bradford have reached new heights.

| I haven't lived in Bradford on a permanent basis since 1998, and I was amazed by how much the city centre had declined when I went back for my stag night 2-3 years ago (fortunately the shock was lessened after a few pints). Not just the big piles of rubble and empty spaces, but most of the pubs/clubs we frequented were much more dilapidated than I remembered and the clientele rougher and less numerous. That's a pretty rapid decline in the space of less than 10 years. The latest news doesn't fill me with much hope for what the city will be like in another 10 years time, if indeed it exists in a form other than being a seat of local government.

[sizeIt's Bradford, but not as we know it.[/size'"
Ah, that bit of our catchment area!!
Nothing to worry about tt, lots of my friends are LS ers (pronounced lessers) and I`d even let my daughter marry one, LS29 sort of butts up to to BD4 and is considered a sub-division; Bradford lite, if you will. So there you are. No need to be embarrassed at all!!

Eh? BD4 is at the bottom, to the right of the M606.

The city centre has got even worse in the past 2-3 years. I fear for the few attractions such as the Alhambra and Media Museum if the decline continues.
As far as pubs are concerned IMO the best ones near the city centre are some way out e.g the Fighting Cock and the Corn Dolly. The ones in the town centre have been allowed to rot.
