I think this is the only reference found to the 20k

Maybe Ken is saying to Thewlis "This is another fine mess youv`e got me into"
Seriously I`m sure I read somewhere that Masons £167 thou would count against their salary cap for 3 years. If by Thewlis`s statement that they were sailing close to the salary cap anyway this year how does adding £55 thou onto it affect them? They could be in breach of salary cap rules as well as lying to the governing body!!! We shall see what teeth the RL have, but I won`t hold my breath, if it had have been us they would be points deduction and further loss of Sky money no doubt.

You possibly read it on here (RLFANS), apparently it doesn't according to the [url=http://www.therfl.co.uk/news/article/28405/rfl-may-re-open-kopczak-dealRFL.[/url
It was Mason's lawyer I believe that claimed the Giants would be close to the cap if they kept Mason, which is why he was claiming they got shut. Since that point though they have lost Eden (who was on an improved contract that I daren't guess the value of considering Mason was on £95k) and Luke O'Donnell who was probably one of, if not the, highest earner at the Giants.
It will be very interesting to see exactly what aspects the RFL are going to investigate, considering compensation has already changed hands? I think the question remains what exactly that £20k was for.

That's the biggest crime of all. He's stolen a wage everywhere he has landed. This will further add to his already massively over-inflated ego.

The reason for the 20K has been outlined on this thread - I suggest you read them.
The RFL have at least two issues to consider.
1. If the Huddersfield representatives under questioning by a RFL official had told the truth about the recruitment of
Kopczak - would they have agreed with the BUll's case that a transfer fee was due and how much would they
have awarded
2. If the Huddersfield representatives did lie to the RFL official, as they appear to have admitted in the high court,
The RFL will take a view on the seriousness of those representatives telling lies to the RFL. both personally and
on behalf of the club
The credibility of the RFL as a governing body is at stake.

Yeah, remember him. Super player, though he got a few brickbats from some fans about his attacking capabilities, he was second only to the immortal Scott Naylor as a reliable defender and the sort of player I'd have in my teams every time.
Think he went back to play in the NRL, didn't he?

| I`m sure he went back and played for the Cowboys. I know he did because he played in the first serious match at the Titans new stadium for the Cowboys. I was there.

| He played two seasons back in NRL for NQC but missed a lot of game through injuries and eventually retired due to them

| Quote Northernrelic="Northernrelic"If the RFL don't take some action after this admission they would in effect be saying that it is OK to lie to them. Time for the RFL to show what they are made of, I wonder if they will disappoint us once again?'"
I think you are right the RFL should take action, the same action taken against the Bulls a team that's lied to them not once but numerous occasions with regards to salary cap and licensing and won trophies on the back of it.
They should buy our ground and bail us out, think thats what your after isn't it?
I don't think the OK Bulls should of received anything in all truth unless they have taken on and settled all debts that were still outstanding from the old Bulls.
What do you reckon?
