| Our business end is now whereas the top 8 business end is much later.
I don't know where the business end is in the 8x8x8 scenario. Is it the end of the regular season to decide which 8 you are in, or is it when they then start to play off? Perhaps you have more than one business end. You try to do well at the business end so as to ensure you are well placed come the business end.

So have you completely given up on the playoffs, then?

| And another thing.
What is the rest of the season that ISN'T the business end called? The public sector end? Does that mean the Conservative administration would instinctively try to dismantle the rest of the season on ideological grounds?
Little bit of politics.

| The business end is whenever you win. Cummins is resting his players until then. The end of April/early May is traditionally an early 'endy' period, uniquely recognised by Cummins. As it is apparently a piece of cake to win the GF from fifth Cummins is lulling his players into a mistaken sense of apathy until he suddenly presses the 'endy' button & they explode into action, while cunningly avoiding the banana skin of finishing in the top 4.

Too much talk of "Cummins" and "pleasured" for someone as immature as me not to giggle.

| I hear the players showers are now adorned with fruit motifs. The players often stick their heads into each other's cubicels to admire the plums

Except for those ones married or otherwise connected to a member of the backroom staff. They'll be given cushy, well paid jobs

It's never over until it's over and the problem with Sunday is that, whilst a loss would likely be construed as just about being curtains [and I guess only the super optimistic amongst us would disagree] a win would still only leave us a very, very little bit better off.
Some points back would surely give us hope, but what we really need is to play a bit better....well, to play a lot better in truth [iand[/i to do so consistently. We certainly can't win all the games from here on - it's definitely not 2005 - but we need to feel we have real chance against the Salfords, Widneses and HKRs of this world. We seem to have most of the sick, lame and lazy back now so I'm still holding out hope for an increase in confidence on the field and some better results.
I'm holding out hope but I need this better form to come quickly...my arms are getting tired with all this holding out.
