I can't see us beating the likes of Salford, Widnes etc without Gaskell. We seriously lack quality in attack without him.

Not sure if Gaskell had played all game, that that would have prevented us getting thrashed. Glad he is ok though.

Strangely, the report on the game on the Bulls' website doesn't even mention him leaving the field, let alone mind the prognosis.

How much will yesterdays humiliation cost the club as people will now stay away at our remaining home games. It could knock a few thousand off the gates - which is about the amount that a decent scrum half may have cost us.

Don't have a problem with that, to be honest.

Much of what comes from the club isn't just for the fans' consumption, it's also part of not showing your hand to the opposition, or the sort of 'mind games' all coaches play.

I said it would knock a few thousand off the "gates". I meant as a whole. Three home games left - possibly 1k off each at £20 + parking etc each comes to a very nasty drop in revenue - one decent player!

It wouldn't matter if we played 7 Lee Gaskells at the back, if our pack minces out like the sugar plum fairy tribute team again then we will get 50 put past us again. Sure Gaskell was injured and it didn't help, but he was injured on our own line, where the game was being played. No halfback can do feck all behind a pack that is meekly surrendering.
