My thoughts entirely. Platt can't get in a team that doesn't have enough players.

| Think it was a case of putting a value on Addy and another club putting a higher bid in (Wakefield iirc). Club see him training every week and not just on matchdays so are better placed to put a value on his services than us fans.
Think Platt is a needed re-signing given Lulia's departure, who tbf hasn't looked settled all yr. if we can get Blythe permanently he'd be first choice which isn't automatic for him at wire, so Platt would continue as backup. If not then we have platt and wood battling for a spot as I think we're likely to use Lulia's quota spot for another reinforcement for the pack.
Hopefully we can now get Donaldson tied down and give him a good crack at 13 spot.

| Maybe Addy wants a lot more money? I can see that he has some bargaining power as he's filled in at halfback with some success and we have no cover there if Sammut or Gale get injured. I wonder if negotiations have broken down completely? We would be mad to go into 2015 without any cover at halfback at all.
Losing Lulia is a blow too but he's been a shadow of his 2012 self. Hopefully we'll get Blythe to fill that gap and we can bring Wood through. I wonder if we'll keep that quota spot given that we got a dispensation anyway, don't expect the RFL to do us any favours on that.
Platt getting a 1 year deal is ok provided he's not on the silly money he was on before. He's an ok squad player and versatile so I'm not too bothered about him re-signing.
Carvell signing a 2 year deal is great news as he adds much needed size and experience into the front row. We just need to keep him fit and healthy. Hopefully we can keep Ben Evans as cover but I do wonder if Wire might want him back considering the players they are losing.
It seems Donaldson and Langley are both in talks so hopefully we'll keep the pair of them.
As for Isaac's point about something bubbling under I'd say that it's most likely a lack of money. Being handicapped by a loss of SKY money is a blow, especially when our backer isn't in the same league as the likes of Moran and Koukash. The Willey episode is a mystery to me but her comments in the press didn't reflect well on her IMO. The new regime have a bit to do to get my full confidence but they're the only show in town.

| Or we move Foster from wing to centre and search for another winger (Ainscough), asses to see what Purts wants to do if he is staying or leaving.
We need to get Blythe from Wire that i think is a must he isnt guaranteed 1st team their and he pretty much is at us.
Platt is backup that's it he can play wing/centre/FB which if we get injuries i see us trying to cover those places.

| Im led to belive that the big earner in the camp Langley copuld be playing for Castleford next year. I like him and he does a lot of the work on the pitch no one notices but he is spending less n less time on the field. For what he is being paid we can sign 3 or 4 players.
Im gutted about lulia Leaving has he has really shored up that side in Defense.
I Belive we should use his quota spot for another front rower. Roy asotasi Lol or maybe another Manasae. Or even Fui Fui. But we do need to sign another .
Ainscough would be a big no no for me. He had speed and run his blood to water but was suspect and not the signing we need. We have enough wingers and Kear & Foster & Platt are better than him. We need Props N .
Addy - What is his best position - No one knows. Id rather resign Donaldson that Addy to be fair as Donaldson knows how to run the ball & tackle. He will be awesome in the years to come.
Carvell is a good signing. still has 2 good years left in him. Him n Lynch would be a good choice if we have to get british. Lynch didnt want to go to hull in the first place.

| The dispensation was given to sammut , not the club, for duration of his current deal so Lulia's quota spot is available with caveat that sammut will require a quota spot if we want extend his deal next year (but all quota players are ooc next year anyway so shouldn't be a problem).

| Langley spending less and less time on the field is a myth. Apps below.
2002 Bradford Bulls 2
2003 Bradford Bulls 16
2004 Bradford Bulls 30
2005 Bradford Bulls 26
2006 Bradford Bulls 30
2007 Bradford Bulls 18
2008 Bradford Bulls 28
2009 Bradford Bulls 26
2010 Bradford Bulls 20
2011 Bradford Bulls 15
2012 Bradford Bulls 25
2013 Bradford Bulls 15 so far
2011 was affected by injury but he recovered last year.
I agree with you on Lulia's defence. That's going to be missed unless we can keep Blythe. Platt has been found out too many times there for him to be a serious long term option in the centres.
The dispensation for Sammut means that we might have to consider who we want to retain after his deal runs out. Has Kearney taken up his 1 year option with us for 2014?
If we can get some half back cover I'd be less upset about Addy going. The kid has got potential but I'm unsure where I'd play him.

| Gutted about Lulia, but not too surprised that he's (presumably) managed to get himself a deal in the NRL. He had offers in Aus when he signed for us in the first place, and that was before their huge salary cap increase. Who knows, maybe Mick Potter is taking him to Wests?
Either way, depending on his replacement (if there even is one) our backline just got a whole lot worse for next season. And it wasn't too cracking to start with.

Why do people keep getting this wrong Sammut has a Maltese passport . Malta is part of the E.U and therefore doesn't count on the quota. There isnt a dispensation ?

| Sammut counts as non fed trained and we're only allowed 5 players with that status - we currently have 6 because Sammut has a dispensation due to the Crusaders farce.
Our non fed trained players are Kearney, Purtell, Lulia, Sammut, L'Estrange and Manoakafoa.
Nothus at least our backline is better than when it was Platt, Sheriffe, Sykes, Nero, Halley.

His Maltese passport gets him off the overseas quota. There's a non fed trained quota too which is what dispensation is for. Suggest you read quota rules

| First of all, I'm very happy with the signing of Garreth Carvell. He adds much needed size to our pack, and also adds a lot of experience too.
I am not surprised about Lulia as he hasn't been right all season. I would expect him to link up with Mick Potter at Wests Tigers.
I must admit, I don't rate Platt very highly but he is decent cover if other players are injured.
Chev Walker can, like he said, act as a mentor for the younger players which is useful. I hope he can find form once again.
As for Danny Addy, he probably has a better option somewhere else.

| The consensus about Addy on this board this year has been that he's poor. he has taken some right stick.
I disagree, because he clearly has ability, though in what position he would play remains in debate. I think he does have more than average talent, and would consider him a player with potential. But not a ready-made anything, yet.
The people who have been bagging Addy and saying he is crap are not now about but presumably they are pleased.
Personally I think I am exactly where the Bulls seem to be, that is, they have made him I reckon an offer based on the above, and in our straitened circumstances, we can't afford to pay anyone over the odds and hope they rapidly grow into the salary.
I would like him to stay, but we should only offer him what we think he is worth, and if he can get substantially more elsewhere then I wish him well, and good luck. He has every right to look after no. 1. I reckon he will be a useful player wherever he goes, but we can't afford to get involved in auctions for unproved players just because other clubs have twice the cash available than we do, simply because we don't have the money to compete, so I don't see what else people expect the Bulls to do.
