| Need to be a hell of a lot smarter with the ball to get close to a result at a Huddersfield. Not sure we have the personnel available to get a result but will be going regardless and hope they put in a decent performance.
Won't be good for confidence to be on the receiving end of another hammering.

| We will probably have Bateman back for this game, I was speaking to him after the game on Saturday and he said I will probably be back playing next week just need to see how things go this week.

If Bateman is back combined with Donaldson being back in reckoning and Olbison going well, does this give us enough back row options to consider switching one off Whitehead or Walker to centres and putting Kearney back in halves?. We've looked very short of ideas with Addy there IMO. To have any chance against Hudds we'll need to turn their forwards round with a good kicking game.

If Bateman is back then thats a massive plus for us. The first person i'd drop from Saturdays game is Addy. Just watched SL full time and his defensive efforts were a disgrace and i think he needs to be shifted out to Dewsbury.

| I think you're being a bit hard on your boys in this thread so far. I've only seen 1 of your games thus far which was against Cas and was quite impressed. The other 3 games i've only seen highlights which you totally hammered Wakey who we struggled against yesterday and the Hull fc & Saints games which were never going to be easy. You've got some dangerous players so I doubt the Giants players or fans are expecting an easy game by any means. IMO it will be another tough test for our boys that i'm looking forward to. Hope you bring a good following over and don't forget kids under 12 are free.

The point is that the teams we have beaten did not have the biggest pack of forwards in the league, or were missing key players (Chase and Smith).
Saints and Hull both have sizeable forwards and dominated the matches we played against them. The Hudds pack is arguably the biggest in the league, plus you have almost a fully fit squad to pick from. From a Bulls pov this Sunday is not going to be pretty, I fear.

| We just need to KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid), far to ofter we try the fancy and it blows up in our faces.
BK and JS in the halves, kear at HB, chev at LF donno back into 2nd row and Whitehead to centre with blythe to wing, and bateman interchange of the bench, and jobe murphy of the bench also, he will add some fire as he will want to make and impression i think, what we really need to do is avoid injuries.
Another thing are we retaining diskin after his year as the couple of games i have seen him play he was poor and we only play well when heath is on the field.

Have to second that.
I don't, in any way, want to knock Danny Addy though, since he's had the guts to put his hand up and do the job he certainly doesn't deserve any brickbats, but he just isn't a half. The fact that we never really got onto the front foot against Saints didn't help his cause either - a regular half would find it hard to impose himself in those circumstances, let alone a stand in loose forward.
It will be a struggle to keep it decent on Sunday, I'm afraid, though I know the lads will fight to the end and I'll be very happy with that.

| I think we will either win (just), or get hammered.
We need Kearney to partner Sammut in the halves to have any sort of chance though.

| I realise Walker has had a good start to the season playing LF but I'd move him the centre, move Blythe to wing, thus allowing Kearney/Sammut in the halves. Foster to full back and Addy to LF.
Addy might not be a half but he's been covering there above others for a reason and might be the most creative LF we have.
Sacrifice a bit of bulk in the pack for a bit more creativity on the pitch, which I realise is a risk against a big Huddersfield pack but we're unlikely to out muscle them anyhow.

| Donno needs to be in at loose, he was one of the only positives to come out of that Saints game. Tackling machine.

| Oh and I'd start with Nas and Scruton. Don't think Sidlow starting worked at all. His impact later in games has been ok otherwise.
I like Donaldson and agree about his tackling, but I don't think we'll tackle the Giants into submission, so I'd try adding more attacking options which I feel means Addy at loose.

| We need to try and wear them down, a big pack cant go on forever.
Instead of battering them man for man double up on them even our props, we can see that the players fitness has increased greatly, Hudds seems to be like a battering ram they will keep coming but last week wakey absorbed the pressure then as the game went on Hudds began to tire and wakey scored 2 tries and could (some argue should) have won.

| I expect a Huddersfield win, but I just want to see us perform better and hopefully pick up no injuries as Widnes (A) and Hull KR (H) are both very winnable.
