We’ve signed a few gems hidden amongst the dross though.
Paul Sykes for example (although he played for us originally) joined us and ended up being the lynchpin of the England team in the World Cup.
He played every position in one match.
Then there is Worrincy of course. What an athlete!

Wasn’t it against Warrington? We let the kick off bounce and sheriffe jumped from the field to knock the ball forward from behind the dead ball line. An opposition player dived on it to score.
Whilst most people would focus on the negatives ie. it was poor defence leaving the ball to bounce, worse that it was left for an opisition player and worst of all terrible game management as it wouldn’t have avoided a drop out anyway. I would much rather focus on the amazing athleticism shown in order to palm the ball back into the field of player before landing in touch. |
