Also didn't Petit approve Thorne only for the RFL to put out that a new team was being set up because Pet-tit had already announced the liquidation. For once the RFL would seem to be in the right, it was the Administrator that went back on his announcement?'"
Yeah I think he recommended Thorne to the RFL. Has the old company actually been liquidated yet? seem to remember someone posting that it was still in administration? Also I do seem to remember that in T&A Gareth Roberts was due to speak to the council and RFL in January this year, maybe he has something to do in the background too.
Back to Big Nige, if it is to be the case and it happens so be it. I just really hope he has learned massively from the mistakes he made at Halifax that they still havent recovered from. That is the big worry.

The administrator had locked the gates, so had to sanction opening up the ground to let the meeting go ahead'"
Didn;t this meeting take place at cue gardens, with a supposed RFL employee in attendance?

Now I thought I understood most of this having stood on both sides at different tribunals (100% success rate so far!) and the rules of TUPE, but this gets more bizarre. I know the government gets blamed for most things, but really can't see why they are responsible for not paying 39 members of staff at Bradford Bulls. Anyone any ideas, apart from this statement that the government are involved confirms a massive conspiracy
The claimants had claimed payouts from the Insolvency Service which were refused, so I suppose the thing must include a claim that the Insolvency Service was wrong to reject the claims.

I think I remember Alex Mellor tweeting something regarding .GOV or HMRC or something like that being useless regarding redundancy payment after liquidation. I would presume the government has something in place for paying workers wages when they have worked a month and the company goes bust not paying anyone.
Guess we'll see who pays what. Sure Green won't have to pay a penny though.

Sdministrators report is here:
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... ng-history
Haven't read it all as it's just too depressing and just makes me angry at what went on. But according to the report, the two bids were rejected by the administrator as they weren't good enough for creditors and also the RFL did in fact by the assets of the club (E.G. name, logo etc) for £60,000.

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.: |
|
| Quote: Bull Mania "Sdministrators report is here:
And the bids that were good enough for the administrator, were contingent on the RFL & council doing a deal for the land which was acceptable to all parties. Which therefore failed.
And another bid was accepted by the administrator but rejected by the RFL as they wouldn't accept staying in Championship. The bid was dependent on starting in C1.
So the administrator could only look at bids which accepted starting in Championship with a 12point penalty and had no upfront interest in the land. Does kind of limit his options I suppose.

| As someone said earlier good to talk about this as talking rugby is so depressing!!!
Just had a quick scan of the liquidators last report, a couple of things struck me
1. Under point 5.9 he states the RFL started an unauthorized bidding process for the assets left from the liquidation, doesn't reflect well on the governing body in showing they were working to their own agenda in isolation from the administrator, especially as they had the final say over potential owners.
2. In 8.7, he confirms that the books showed they owed £1.091m when the end came, but subsequent claims from creditors increased that sum to £2.448m, including a substantial claim from the directors not previously recorded. Anyone any idea why Green would do that when he knows the money had run out, I don't get it

I thought I remembered they met as a group in Cue Gardens then went to the Coral Stand for the meeting. If they did the administrator had to be involved to approve opening up

Either way I still wish Thorne had got it as we would be top of the league I genuinely believe that

If Thorne had got us they'd be less excuses for us given they would have had a U.K. Based legal entity, bank etc., etc., so we could have signed players quicker and easier than under the RFL imposed solution of 2 guys from overseas with no infrastructure in the U.K. To support a rapid improvement/turnaround plan.

Perhaps.
But I'm still relieved that he didn't take over the club. It's a 2hr 28 minute drive from Odsal to Ricoh Arena. That's a bit too far for most of us to attend a home game.
