| So our new coach is Rohan Smith?
Uh....ok? Difficult to form an opinion when I know very little about the guy. He seems to have a fair bit of coaching experience under his belt though.

| Certainly would be an interesting appointment. Don't know enough about him to know if it's a clever move or just a cheap option. Why would he be siting on a visa if he's already over here with London?. He'd have a decent support network and I'd guess his dad would be director of rugby in all but name.wasnt he rumoured to want to buy Wakefield and left when he couldn't? Wonder if he's investing in bulls now. Plus his uncle might help him out with loan players. Interesting option

Article with a bit of info on him. Certainly been around some first class setups.'"
Particularly impressed by his obvious passion to develop young players. John Bastian, Matt Diskin and Leigh Beattie have built teams and a structure which will allow him to put that into practise.

| Can the options now be changed to Morrison Vs one of the mentioned Ausies - Cartwright and Smith.
I like most thought Glen would have been unveiled this week but I now wonder. In fact, as soon as I heard Cartwright's name I instantly thought "would he be our Maguire?".
I wonder what other people think. Is Glen still the hot favourite or would you prefer an Ausie who has served his apprenticeship in the NRL and is appointed purely because of his CV or do we still go with sentiment and ask Glen.
The spanner may well have been thrown into glen's works with these two applications. Marc Green will have no sentimental feelings towards Glen and will make the decision purely on fact and advice from Ferris.
I would have taken Glen but now he is third behind Cartwright and Smith Jr in my mind.

For me NRL. Different level of training over there. Cartwright and Smith have both been exposed to that more or less all of their careers.

The more he talked of his honour, the faster we counted our spoons.: |
|
| The reason I wanted Brian Smith was we need someone with experience to shake this lot up from top to bottom, can motivate and man manage, but also Smith would have been able to get his hands on a couple of Aussie half Backs as most NRL clubs have half a dozen waiting for their chance and are much higher standard than we have at the moment. But if it's not Smith then I hope it is another Aussie who can bring the badly needed Aussie players with him.To me it's our only chance of salvaging anything from yet another shambolic season.Oh and I so hope Smith has desires to buy into the Bulls so we can get this show back on the right road, coz so far IT SUCKS.

| Looking like it will be announced this week. Considering Morrison hasn't been contacted, looking like it will be someone from OZ.

Understand frustration but didn't plan on needing a new coach. Will not make any appointment but hope to make announcement imminently
What is this supposed to mean?
Will not make any appointment? What?

I assume the 'long version' is something like
'Will not make (any old) appointment (just for the sake of it) but hope to make announcement imminently'

| Mr Green, you would have needed a new coach whether Lowes left or not. You were too loyal and he was too stubborn. You also trusted Ferres on his mad "we don't need a scrum half" theory and now Odsal's roosts are full up with pigeons.
If we were where we are on Workington's budget then we'd be doing OK. As it is, we are getting maybe 20p in the £ value out of the squad. We have good players but no creativity, confidence, no leaders and half a season of inadequate coaching.
You need to face facts. The money we have spent and are spending, we are just not getting anywhere near the level of performance from some very talented players that we should be. Why is that, you think?

Spot on. What we don't need is an inexperienced coach with emotional ties to the club. We need a strong guy who will kick some arris, maybe even get rid of some underperformers if he sees fit. This season is already practically a write off, let's have a good shake up and go again next year.
