| Thaler is a good ref - he'll do for me.
As mentioned up the board he's a regular SL ref, so hopefully will ref it to SL specifications, whilst I know the rules are the same in every division, we all know they're not. Let's hope we haven't 'gone native' and give him any excuses to 'ping' us for anything daft. Which, I know, is a bit like expecting nice weather in summer..

| Happy with the appointment of Thaler, regardless of previous win rates while he's been in charge. This match is hugely important for both clubs and so I'm happy a Super League ref is taking the game.
I'm unsure about Gaskell. He and Chisholm as a partnership could be devastating, but Gaskell hasn't played for a long time now and I'm not sure if he'd be fit enough and sharp enough for a game that is likely to be very intense right from the start.

| If Gaskell is fit then we must play him at some point to try and get him fit again.
If we make it to the play offs we need to beat the three Ch. teams to get into the MPG.
If we did that and we ended up playing say HKR I would like a fully fit Gaskell and Chisholm at halves. He needs to play at some point. We would have beaten Leigh each time with Gaskell and Chisholm so for me he needs to be picked if fit.

Yes it's the new stands, and all I'd say is given the cost will still only be £20 I think Bradford fans would be on very slippery ground if they start trying to lecture other teams on "cashing in" given Bradford themselves have been happy to charge SL prices for Championship rugby.

Does that include the one behind the sticks that we were in last year then?
Incidentally, I won't argue with people criticising Bradford's prices. I myself have done it on more than one occasion this year (as an away fan, I wouldn't pay our prices). But charging people £2 extra because it's a bumper crowd is still taking the wee wee, even if our club also charges too much. Two wrongs do not make a right. It's also cheeky to put this out AFTER many people have bought tickets expecting to sit there.

Yes. It's the two new stands - that one and the one at the side of it. To be fair there are usually more Fev fans than away fans in those two stands though obviously we don't often get the number of away fans that Bradford bring.

Thanks for the info.
Gotta be honest, I think it's a tad out of order from the club. Not just for the away fans that would generally sit there, but also for home fans who probably sit there every home game. Screams of cashing in on what will be a large crowd. If I had a season ticket for one of those stands, I think I'd be contacting the club right now to complain.

The club is not in great financial shape. We have probably undercharged for those new stands ever since they opened (its the same to sit there as stand up). Yes it's cashing in, but Championship clubs need to cash in when they can as long as they are not doing so in an outrageous manner, and I think £20 for a seat at this game is fantastic value.

The actual cost isn't really the issue. It's waiting until you've sold a load of tickets before announcing it that's ripping people off.

| Halifax did this in '97, maybe '98. It was this year that I finally relented and visited again.
Just saying.
It's not the money. I happily pay more than this each time we pay at home. The full one too, I never buy a season ticket and never pre-book so I always pay the full £23.
It's the principle of "We have a price for you, and a price for everyone else".
Curiously, I have a reaction for that and a reaction for everything else.

Precisely. I've already bought my ticket for Sunday, so I can't react this year (aside from no way in hell I'm paying the extra £2, even if I have to stand with barely any view). I will react if we're in the same division next year.
Incidentally if the club are having money problems, this sort of stunt really isn't going to help. It may bring a few extra quid in on Sunday, but the away (and home) fans it will get annoyed will likely lose more money long term.

| Dewsbury even raised all the prices in the bar. A member of the bar staff told me when struggling to add up my round as all the prices were new. I understand why clubs do it but being a bulls fan means paying a premium at most places we visit. Hardly fair really.
And all the other clubs complain when they have to pay our ticket prices once a year. Try getting ripped off every week.

| I have a great belief that somebody gives you a price and as a customer you decide whether to pay it. As long as they charge the same for both sets of supporters I don't mind. And as somebody said we get ripped off paying £22 at every home game.

If it's a price up front, I agree totally. Different when you've already paid and then get asked to pay more for what you were led to believe you'd already paid for.

Got to say thats true buddy. Catering prices at Odsal are well below others and always a good nosh up with proper hot dogs.
