Hope to god it goes through, we need some good news, sick of other teams taunting us about our hole in the ground/dump etc...says funds for both completely identified, thought there was a funding gap for second one, if not would make much more sense to use that..would it have a pitch that west bowling could use and council build houses on the land just off mayo? Or the land off stadium way that the juniors use..i know the older end..u14s upwards use the pitch next to the cricket pitch couldnt the juniors use that as well.

i think this is a nudge from City to get the go ahead on scheme one, as there "saber rattling" has no strenght if moving in to odsal is a total no go

There is a long way between identifying funding and actually securing it!

Sure, there may be £millions of lottery and European money available but getting it hinges on a successful bid. That isn't cut and dried by any means. As for European money I know for a fact that the current programme has far less available than previous ones due to the expansion of the EU, so any bids will be heavily scrutinised by Yorkshire Forward.

when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.:1589.jpg

This could finally be it. After years of waiting they are finally about to decide.
If they say no then we're probably either leaving Bradford or going to VP icon_sad.gif

They'll say yes.

Actually building is another matter entirely.

Quote: MQBlank "edited Highlights from todays League Express

scheme 1 - 18000 capacity , Bowl filled in, rectantular stadium, hotel, resturant, sports retail

scheme 2 - entire stadium would have roof , pop terrance extended toward coral stand and seated, playing surface raise 2meters, track removed,

both schemes - funding sources are completely identified , direct access from the m606 - leaving odsal for 2 years, probably but not defo for VP ( " we would prefer to remain in bradford"icon_wink.gif work would start first half of 2010

no update on sharing with city ,

yes or no on one or both will be made tomorrow (2nd june)'"

[iPossible[/i funding sources have been identified. In the report they are accounting for an "attrition rate of 20%" ie not gaining all of the possible funding and that this may be funded by an increase in Council Tax.

Other snippets lose money year on year although not as much as Richard Dunns.

Other events income will go to the stadium management company to offset these annual losses.

Bradford Bulls will pay a ground rent to the management company.
They are spending another £1.2m to advance the proposals by bringing in specialist support.

Preferred scheme ( most expensive ) is 18,000 all seater. Alternative 20,000 ( 11,000 seats ).

Breakdown of preferred scheme All depends on the funding

Cheers for that. Hood said this is about the whole community and from the sounds of that, pretty much every sporting preference will be catered for.

Sounds like it'd generate a lot of jobs in the area.
Perhaps that'll make it attractive to the general public - although not if there's an increase in the council tax!

Well worth the long link! Skimmed it over lunch and it's very interesting. From the way the monies were presented, I thought it was heading towards a repositioning by recommending 'Option 1' over the 'Compliant Scheme' - but the conclusion doesn't back this up. Still, it's all hot air until the diggers move in.
