| Really big effort from the lads and they actually played as a team. As fans, I don't think we can ask for much more than 100% commitment. Easily the most enjoyment I've had at Odsal this year.
What is important now is how we use this performance to move forward for the rest of the year. We have shown that if we play as a team we can defend pretty well and cause teams a few problems. Confidence should have lifted considerably despite the result going against us. They have Salford next, we need to take this enthusiasm into this game and get our league campaign back on track.

Well played Bradford. And what a bunch of sore winners the Wigan fans I spoke to were. Disappointing.
And to the one who seemed to personally blame us for Raynor trying to "take his ******* head off" in front of my daughter - you must be so proud.'"
The ones I spoke to at half time and on the way back to the car were low rent people from a low rent town.
As champions you have to be a bit more subtle in winding up supporters of the team with the lowest points difference in the league after you've scraped past them in the cup.

Brilliant! So does that mean the spear tackle 2 minutes later was attempted murder?
If Tomkins was actually knocked out after that he needs a new profession!

| Well, well, well. A performance of guts and heart; A real tonic.
I do find it a bit of a shame that anyone would wish to dispute the sending off. I really do think it was completely clearcut and a straight red. A great shame but perfectly fair. As to whether we would have won with 13 men, I don't think we can say. Wigan wouldn't have psychologically put their cue on the rack (not to take anything away from the balls we displayed) and may well have won anyway.
The conduct post sending off pleased me the most. To then show so much pride in keeping Wigan out when they had every excuse to fold hugely boosted my morale. That performance has got to reap rewards in the league surely?
Pretty please can this not be another false dawn (Trade Mark Stevey Mac)

| Raynor was correctly sent off as his tackle was reckless, and he did make contact with the head. Having said which I have just watched the replay and it is equally clear that when he swung his arm it was aimed for Tomkins' arm and was a clear intent to hit the arm hard to dislodge the ball, there was no intent to make contact with the head, but Tomkins started to dive down as the arm was swung.
Another backs-to-the wall, fully committed, 80 minute performance from the Bulls, like a couple we have seen earlier in the season, and one bog improvement was the discipline, and our unforced errors were also much reduced on normal. I have no clue why they don't put this effort in every week, but prefer to think (or hope) that they have read all the criticism, taken all the flak on the chin, sorted their heads and their attitudes out, and that it will in future be this team, and not the keystone cops team, that runs on to the field.
Let's hope we have finally put the non-trying, headless chickens performances behind us. A truly excellent, outstanding effort today which just makes much of what we have endured even more mystifying.
The most pleasing individual performance to me were the much maligned Briggs, who finally showed what he can do, Royston, who was superb, and Platt, who at the moment is worth his weight in taties, he for one has never gone absent in a game and his committment, expecially to chase down Richards and force the error, was great. But the TEAM effort was the big thing, it shows we CAN be a team, and when we are, we can give a game to anyone.

| Well done Bradford, there was nothing between the sides even when you were down to 12 men, Wigan just got an extra bit of luck when it mattered, unlucky.

You're not beiung serious surely. He got tagged right on the off-switch. He's a monumental cock but he didn't feign being knocked out.

It wasn't a spear tackle. The legs did not go over the horizontal. It was however, a dangerous throw and rightly penalised.
Why should Tomkins need a new profession? A lot of players would get knocked out from a swinging arm "punch" to the jaw at that speed. Do grow up.

Indeed. You could clearly see him lining up a perfect punch to the chin as he hurtled in at full pelt from the wing to try and prevent a try. What a great shot to hit him just where he wanted.
It was an accident. Tomkins landed badly. On report at most.
But still it was Golden Boy wasn't it. So red it had to be.

Can't better that. Pretty well what I would have said.
Briggs had a very good game - and got us out of jail several times. Royston - excellent acquisition. Says something when two of probably the best three players in a Bulls shirt are from the Championship? Langley led by example - shows how much we missed him. Platty for England! I do not think Raynor's action was at all deliberate, but it probably went some way beyond careless and probably counted as reckless. Even so, it would be nice to think the same rules applied all the time everywhere else. Unfortunately it always seems to be us, doesn't it?
Can only be very proud of the lads today. Best effort we've seen at Odsal for ages now. Guts and determination. Please, please now let the lads see this as a big confidence booster? They CAN do it. They CAN defend - defended like their lives depended on it today. When they had possession and some space they looked very dangerous. If not for that bit of madness start of second half, we could have taken it. No reason now for them not to build on that confidence. And with players to come back, the playoffs are far from out of reach.

Agree with all of that. Am I also allowed to suggest Jeffries might actually have given us a little bit of direction that's been missing?
