TBH, it's a surprise they've extended it, I would have thought that with us being back in the Championship, there'd have been a decent uptake in tickets.
Although, it seems that perhaps with Chisholm only just signing a new deal, the club are expecting a few hold outs to now buy

| Good news regarding Chisholm, I'm hoping that with a proper pre season behind him he will continue his latter season form.

So no away fans next year then?
Lot of pressure on the team to perform then. People aren't going to be paying out SL prices for sub-par performances.
For example, £25 is in the price range of Saints, and they've got a new stadium and a team that's likely to be pushing for silverware next year.

It's on there under the match by match section. Standing works out at £325 for the year. If it's 13 home games that's £25 per match.

| I have defended the ST prices but I think they have got the Matchday prices wrong it's too expensive for Championship rugby.

Presumably the £25 is the worst case walk up on the day price and it'll be a few quid cheaper if pre-booked as this year ( and seems to be common practise at a few clubs now). Still dear mind and cant see us attracting many away supporters.

Good point about the pre booking.
And yes it is still expensive. No argument. However it shouldn't be a surprise. We've invested heavily in the squad, with several new signings and key players getting FT contracts. It's all got to be paid for. Nothing is guaranteed but if we've got a competitive team and if (huge if) we are finally being run in a business like manner then it's worth it.
Away support shouldn't be part of the budget and hopefully that's not the case. However we plainly still want away fans there. In most cases they will complain (With some justification) about the price, but will still be there to watch their team. We don't know what they will be charging us yet! Let's not rain on the parade on a day when we've announced another brilliant signing and back the team in every way we can, financially as well as emotionally.

| Quote: Fr13daY "This 'early-bird' ticket deal thing is a bit of a mystery.
I've asked on social media, as have many others, how much the tickets go up by after today. No-one has got any response.
My mate Daryl phoned up the ticket office and asked how much they go up by. After keeping him on hold for 5 minutes they got back to tell him "...we don't know at the moment".
I also asked about a payment plan, and they promptly didn't get back to me about that either....'"
I've always been a bit cynical about 'early bird'.
Gived that the vast majority are going to want the cheaper version it's clear that the season's costings will be based on that price, rather than a the mythiical 'full price' which virtually no-one pays. More of a way to encourage early payment imo. Pretty obviously the difference between the two prices has to be fairly significant to encourage early buying.

| The early bird helps get some sales in to cover cashflow in the close season too. I got mine and now can look fwd to next season.

| Back to playing staff, have we announced Matty Garside has re-signed yet? I know he is another like Steve Crossley who will only play part time but would it not be worth getting him in the squad?
Also what is the deal with Jamel Goodall? He ended up signing a contract extension after only a few months yet has never been close to the first team. Ended up playing on loan in the Championship and despite being given a squad number, doesn't appear anywhere on the club website.
He was one that I saw at the open training session towards end of last season and he looked like he was really struggling. Remember someone saying there was big hopes for him but is he another that is going to miss the mark?

GArside was mentioned in kears article a week or two back talking aout next years 2nd row options and he was talking as if it was definite. Think Mick Gledhill has also said hes here next year. would have though he would have been easier ones to retain as he's part time and doesnt want to go fultime so wont cost much.

| Glad Vila is sorted, there were rumours of him going to Keighley but with their ongoing financial problems I don't think that would've been a good move.
There's been no official confirmation of Garside re-signing. I don't know if that's slipped through the net or whether he was under contract anyway. He was confirmed as signing a two year deal in 2017 so should be good for a year if that was right.
If there is any more to come in it's only in the centres where I think we look a bit short. After Gibson and Webster we have Oakes as backup then we're into playing the likes of Hitchcox, Minchella and Ryan there. Egodo back for another loan deal maybe?
