| Quote: CHEADLE LEYTHER "No mention here of his weak defence or difficulty in clearing his lines. Too small for super league, and couldn’t displace Mitch Brown who made more metres than anybody else last season. Still should excel in league 1 this season.'"
Actually CL, I did say [i'he isn't too hot at returning those kicks' [/iand [i'I was always critical of his defensive play....' [/i
Brown was better at clearing his lines - when he actually caught the ball (remember Warrington away?) but his defence was just as 'weak' as McNally's. As for size, compare McNally with the two full backs Wigan employed against us on Sunday - Tomkins and Escare. As most people (well, men) would say, "size isn't everything!"
I remain disappointed that he has gone.

| McNally has usually played well against us and has always been a 'danger man' with ball in hand so I'm very happy to have him on board. Considering that Leigh fans, without a dissenting voice, are commenting on how sad they are to see him gone tells me we've got a good 'un.
As for the shirt, it's my club's shirt, so whilst I reserve the right to prefer some over others, I'll wear it with pride.

| The new Away shirt looks 100% better in the flesh, but under no circumstances ever can it ever never ever be ever worn with white shorts. Can we start a spare coloured shorts fund now to eliminate the risk of this ever happening.

Genuinely shocking that this lemon still has a job at the club that doesn't involve cleaning the bogs.

Possibly just a tad unfair. Everyone has their own set of good and less good qualities and whilst normally a poor command of the native language would preclude a job in journalism, or any related position, you'd think some supervision, or mentoring, could be arranged. Though I'd accept that this arrangement couldn't go on for ever, and to be fair, it would seem that some 'multi-tasking' is going on up at Odsal so we must hope that his (her) other duties are more suitable to his (her) abilities.
All that said, I've never had a word processing programme which didn't come with a spell checker (which I have to overrule on a regular basis....but that's another matter).

This matter has been raised on numerous occasions with plenty of people (including staff) offering to proof read before issue. Nothing has been done. This week's output has been very poor indeed with a scatter-gun approach to capital letters, apostrophes and players names being spelt differently throughout an article.
I suspect there is little management oversight of the staff member in question.
I'll be bringing the issue up at the next fans forum if nothing's done about it. I've tried the "more in sorrow than in anger" approach and been through all the usual channels on the quiet. It hasn't worked. I'd obviously rather not embarrass anyone in public but it might be the only way...

| Let's hope they do take some sort of action as it putting the club in a very poor light as it is. Amateurish doesn't even come close.

| Definitely a good signing. Interesting that an attacking FB was seen as the priority after wings rather than a decapitator type of prop. Although as expected the emphasis has been on defence to start with, this looks like a commitment to attacking play from a number of positions not just half backs. Chisholm and McNally, how many tries are they going to make/finish for each other - and Elliot, Joe, Reiss etc too. So a big step in the right direction, and the promise of entertaining and winning rugby this season.

I'd agree. I know Kear said in an interview or an article (before we signed McNally) that Ryan was putting his hand up for FB. Although I do like Ryan from what I have seen I just don't think he's good enough at FB going forward and finishing moves in that sense. The signing of McNally shows that we have signed someone who can make a break from anywhere. Back up any breaks made on the field and finish them off with a try. But for me more importantly it allows Ryan to revert to the wing and continue his fruitful partnership with Oakes, where his type of finishing is better and he'll score a ton of tries.

| I still think that the club are in the market for at least one prop.
I'd be very surprised if there isn't one announced before the final friendly.

I was just thinking earlier today a Ross Peltier clone would be good and from the video he certainly looks the part.
