| I didn't see this coming a few weeks ago, however its a great signing and I'm sure JK will have no illusions as to what we expect next season.

| Great appointment, really happy with that. Well done ac. Shame we didn't bring in a fresh assistant too, but I'm not going to worry too much about that. The future will look after itself if kear is successful in the three years of his contract. We can't look beyond this season really IMHO, we have to get out of league 1 asap, and of the candidates mentioned I think kear is the best placed to do that, provided ac let's him add the players he thinks he needs when he needs them. So no complaining for the sake of it for me.
The club and ac still have plenty of work to do on rebuilding trust etc, but just for today at least, I'm going to enjoy an all too rare moment of genuinely good news and feeling positive. Welcome aboard the roller-coaster Mr kear!

| Superb news, imo. Now I can't wait to get started.
His first interview strikes the perfect tone for the season as he's already Referred to two clubs who have stated they intend to turn us over (probably when they heard we were 'going to go undefeated..'). I can imagine JK in the dressing room "this lot think they can beat us, well? are you going to bloody well let 'em?

| Good stuff. Should be no lack of motivation with John Kear as coach. Onwards and upwards! (Fingers crossed)

| One really obvious benefit from Kear - as distinct from someone like Toovey - is that he really knows the Championship / League 1 scene. As in, he really, [ireally[/i, knows the players that are at our level.
I would fully expect to start to hear of new signings soon. He will know more than anyone that we absolutely need two or three grizzled forwards who aren't going to get bullied - after all, he had Alex Rowe, Tony Tonks etc bullying us when he was at Batley.
I expect he'll be on the phone right now seeing who is available and looking to strengthen what looks like quite a young and naive pack of forwards.

Not sure about the sour grapes. Most people seem to be saying that they don't want him to go but if he does, good luck and thanks for everything.
As a comparison, when we hit the poop financially in 2012 (I think it was), he ran a team on an absolute shoestring, with players who definitely weren't Super League and didn't finish bottom. He had a team that was perhaps low on skill but played very organised and structured rugby. The fans consensus at the time was that although not pretty to watch at times, Kear got the best out of what we had and no one faulted the team for effort.
Hope it goes well and see you in 2019!

| Happy with Kear, disappointed we didn't get Greenwood over the line - never mind, can't have it all.
Good luck JK and I'll buy a ST on the strength of the appointment

| You'll not find many bitter wakey fans at all. Most were happy to have him and wanted him to stay, but if he's not interest in buying into the ethos at Wakey then it's probably the right time for him to go. I wish him and NewCo success, it's going to be a big ask for him

| Great news on your new appointment in John Kear. A very knowlegable guy in championship rugby, this could be the kickstart Bradford have desperately been missing over the last few years.

| Overall I'm very happy that the club have managed to get John on board for the next 3 seasons. Perhaps this should have been the appointment we made before Jimmy Lowes was brought in in 2014.
Lets not kid ourselves, John has a massive job on his hands. This next season will be tough but I feel as though he has the proper knowledge and understanding on how to get us out of League One and into the Championship.

| The best possible appointment at this time for us. Totally surprised that we got him but sort of understand why he left Wakey to get back into full time head coaching again. It must have been awkward at times for him wanting to coach and Chester having him stood behind him all of the time. Chester might feel a little happier now and Kear is back in the position he loves which is why it makes sense to me.
I just can't understand why there are some people still finding negatives about this by using the words "lies" and disappointed in Beatie being assistant. I prefer Kear + Beatie than Greenwood + anyone. Kear and Greenwood would have been good but Kear and anyone is also a pretty good outcome to me. Lets just accept that Kear has probably taken most of the coaching budget for the first team and beatie will be a good bridge between Kear and the others.
I also don't expect there to be a problem with Mr Carter. he does come over as a decent bloke and Kear has served him well. If Kear explained to him why he wanted to take the job I can see Carter wishing him the best and not standing in his way. I expect it was all done very amicably by both sides.
