When I was at school and the football team was picked you always got a few left at the end that neither captain wanted and yes, I was one of them. Well, those kids have grown up and will be playing rugby for the Bulls this season. There's always hope if you hang on in there no matter how bad you are.

Talk of having a budget of £400k this year makes me smile. That first season with Ferrett and Jimmy we spent at least that amount on players that couldn't get into the team - some didn't actually get a game as I remember. Oh, times have changed. Happy days when we had (didn't) have money to spend on players we didn't want.

A quick run through this thread to find out what was said at press conference and it appears there hasn't been one and there isn't likely to be one today.

My career was short but included the dizzying heights of beating Windhill on their paddock in THE derby and the lows of being smashed by Dodworth A and getting utterly battered up at Siddal... but the coach was always a proper gent!

It's not a case of how large your budget is, it's a case of getting value for money. WE have spent large budgets in the last two years and have been decidedly short changed.

We short changed ourselves by signing players the coach had no intention of playing. Take those out of the equation and there might have been enough to pay the VAT.

Aaron bower, freelance journo (actual journalist as opposed to some others we know) who has had a couple of good pieces in the Guardian about this fiasco, (and I think used to be a poster on here long ago??) has tweeted there is a press conference tomorrow. I've no reason not to belive Aaron, if it actually happens or not is an entirely different thing!

If i remember correctly the rfl statement on Fri said early next week, never mentioned Monday.
