The management team didn't seem to think the 'probation' bit was very important and it was pretty clear last night that they fully expect to carry on in SL for the two seasons, but yes, it might cause players and agents to think a bit, even though there is nothing to lose in a sense, particularly for a young player, in that if the club were to lose its licence then they would be free anyway. |

Apparently there is nothing explicit in the agreement regarding "probationary". They think that, if nothing else, it is a precaution by the RFL against the same happening again. |

Pretty much my take on it too; no problems and the licence just continues until 2014 as it would have done without the meltdown. Ultimately, and more important in terms of signing players, there is really no real need for agents, or players, to make an issue out of it. |

If he doesn't accept the new deal (better wage icluded) then he's on his old contract till the end of 2014 on his current wage probabtionary lisence or not. Bateman is a genuine Bradford lad and will stay if given the chance.

Except his current deal expires at end of 2013 not 2014. |

Got a tweet from Ainscough saying if anyone needs a personal trainer at exercise4less gym in wigan - not far from me - he is available.
Maybe he is doing this to bring in some extra cash during off-season or maybe its his new career path.

Seemed to remember an article in T&A by him a while back saying that this was an alternative employment if he did not find a club. |
