Points scored, points difference, something boringly statisical like that.....Something to do with us constantly battering teams, like you used to, in the days when you had a good side...(though, didn't you bust the cap occasionally?)...

Oh - yes, you mean stuff that means jack, but is a way of making the fans of teams that have won nowt feel better about themselves?

I know this is pointless dick-measuring, but I'll indulge you....
2 trips to Wembley = 2 trophies....
Plus one of them was beating your local rivals, so you must have cheered us just a little bit???....

Glad you cleared that up.
For a minute there I thought you were going to compare this 'record' to going an entire SL season unbeaten.....
It does seem that some Wire fans are holding on to ANY pointless argument to justify that their team is the best to ever grace SL.
Good side, yes, but far from record breakers. Even if you do win the SL this year, you still have a lot of catching up to do.

To be fair, we are just immensely chuffed that, at the moment, we are probably the club who most sides aspire to emulate, with regards to recruitment, performance and general organisation off the pitch....If you had said this 10 years ago, you would have been laughed out of the town.
As for 'catching up'???....I hate to accuse you of this, but you sound like Liverpool fans, stuck in the past, forever harking back to the glory days, whilst standing still and watching more ambitious, better organised clubs riding past you.
For all my mischeivous poking, I'd actually like to see you get back to something close to what you once was, as you were a fine example of what a good, professionally run club could acheive....Indeed, you were probably the blueprint for what we are presently doing, both on and off the pitch - Its just a shame its all gone a little pear-shaped for you at present.

| Come om Dita, you struggled to beat us on Saturday...Not bad for a side that has gone "a little pear shaped" playing a side that "most sides aspire to emulate"...
Yes you are a top 4 side for sure but quite a way off bragging material at the moment.

| I feel everyone is being a bit harsh on Wire here.
Their CC wins put them up on a par with (in fact, as they did it twice, maybe just edge them above) two of the great modern day RL sides, the Sheffield Eagles team of 1998, and the legendary Hull FC of 2005, let's not do them down.

Struggled???.....I'd say tested rather than struggled....Conditons were a bit of a leveller, a couple of injuries to key players caused a bit of chaos in the ranks in the first half, but overall we won by 13 points without getting out of second gear.
It was actually quite a satisfying win, simply because it was the type of game where we couldn't bully a side like we normally do, yet we won with a bit in hand at the end.
I know it sounds patronising, but you were playing close to your best last night, we were nowhere near, in fact we haven't been yet this season.....This Wire side is a summer side, and I'd expect us to improve dramatically in the coming months as pitches dry out.
As for bragging material?...Like I say, most of us are just happy that finally we have a side which can be regarded as a genuine threat in the competition.....Surely with what you lot are going through, coupled with the glories where you have sunk from, you can respect that?

Yes you struggled, we've also our first choice scrum half missing (Gale) and 2 other definate first choice players (Elima and Purtell) so we will also improve and i don't believe we were at our best by a long way.
Like i said earlier you are def top 4 material (we are not) but the gap is not as massive as some people like to make out.

| And the 13 point margin was very flattering. 3 points would have been a fairer reflection of the game.

Unfortunately, I think it is (despite what Sky would like you to believe).....Too much mediocrity in the league, I'm a keen supporter of those who think we are 4 sides too many in the league.
Not saying you shouldn't be there, but at the moment a situation where you can predict the top 6 at the start of the season, isn't good for the game.
The sad thing, as the season wears on, and injuries take hold, pitches dry out, the better teams will only pull away even further from those struggling to compete.
