So don't tell me, if the Earth suddenly stopped moving then my desk would continue (but only if it was in a vacuum) but not forwards, as long as my hands were pointing backwards when the Earth stopped... |

If ever anyone loved his brother but was out to single handedly destroy his career it was John.
Anyhoo, frame of reference is king with momentum. A desk on a train has momentum if you're stood at the station, but not if you're on the train. Your frame of reference with passes is the player passing the ball when he's passing it, not the ground. Piece of cake.

Think you need an edit with the words "relative to you" liberally interspersed. Though I'm not saying we're related. |
