At the risk of sounding what some would call Islamaphobic..Yes i am concerned about certain elements of Islam and how many muslims seem to be becoming more radicalised.

You only have to walk around the streets of Bradford now to see this for yourself, far more female muslims wearing full body and face covering than 10 years ago and in some places a total division in cultures. I also think that a religion that is Homophobic, Intolerant towards other faiths and demeaning to women does not fit into western society and culture.

Very admirable & noble concerns. Are you ok with queer bashing, Paki bashing, smacking your bitch up? Because sounds just like the society you are so worried about defending. I would wager the vast majority of EDL incomers to Bradford are guilty of supporting those crimes.

You fail to see the contradiction in what you are saying. The elements of Islam that concern you are apparent in our society already, & have been for generations. Does that not concern you, or is it just when Muslims do it?

And you fail to see what i'm saying. Yes there are elements of all the above in all sections of society and i along with most others condemn it. Unfortunately Islam is not widely condemned and when it is all hell breaks loose.

I've explained above the reasons why i am criticising Islam, i am not condemning all muslims so don't twist it.

And yes i do criticise Catholics such as birth control issues, paedophiles in the church etc. As yet i've not had any need to criticise Hinduism or Sikhism.

Tbf the numbskulls in the EDL have no serious ambitions to enforce anti-gay/women legislation. Religious groups do.

Possibly. I have limited knowledge of what state of nirvana the EDL aspires to, but I would imagine limiting freedom of expression would be on their agenda somewhere.

Speaking for myself, not a lot, since I will obviously be long gone many years before the point might be reached. But if I was going to live to be 200, I would under no circumstances want it to be in an islamic state. It is one thing having religious types around, quite another when they can and do compel compliance with their brand of ideological dogma.

Most of the things I like to do, such as drinking, the occasional bet, music, would be banned. Attendance at mosque and five times daily prayers etc would not be optional, so compulsory obeisance to some flavour of sky pixie. The wife and daughter's lives would change even more drastically and not in a good way. Law and order supplanted by the cult of Sharia, including lashings and executions of women for adultery. To mention just a couple of random things.

I am surprised that you seem unfamiliar with the potential drawbacks, seen from a western perspective, of living in an islamic state, but maybe you would be cool with all that sort of thing. Or maybe we are somehow talking about completely different things?
