| Quote: Asim "However misguided Halley may have been in berating the touchjudge, let's face it he had nothing to berate him for, I thought it was a positive sign to see some passion from a player in the light of the disinterested shambles that went a week before it, and has all too often gripped the team in the last couple of years.'"
Absolutely. Halley has his flaws but one thing he does seem to have is some passion for the Bulls. I'm a lot more forgiving of mistakes from people like Halley/Sykes because you can see the effort and commitment is there.

Agree only partially, getting himself 10 minutes in the bin won't help the Team! Discipline is important especially when we aren't playing well. What we really want is somebody who will get us penalties, Sculthorpe can do hat but also will give them away.

agree with all of that. only change which may be forced on us is if halley gets a ban in which case wardle/reardon/crookes to come in if any of them are fit. depending on extent of injury may be necessary to rest scruton too, as playing him with a knock and potentially making it worse would be a major blow, in which case debut a burgii or have langley do a stint at prop (although I dont like that idea on his first game back). Can't see any reason to drop southernwood out as he needs gametime with 1st team to learn the set pieces and combos. and like you say it means other players able to play their best positions so makes sense to keep him in even if it does make us slightly less creative while he learns the ropes.

| One incident not being mentioned is the Wire 1st try when Menzies was obstructed. It was interesting call by Bentham, are we now saying you can be obstructed as long if you don't fall over or make an attempt to tackle?
I reckon if Menzies had fallen over or stopped and thrown his hands in the air the try would have been instantly disallowed by the video ref.

I'm not saying it was a good thing to berate the official, and it's not something I hope he's going to start doing every game, like Bully Boxer says I think a player like Halley can be forgiven the odd incident, if he starts doing it all the time it's a different matter.
The way I took something positive from it is that, a week ago in Wrexham, the impression was that a lot of them didn't really give a toss about what was going on, and wouldn't have been bothered enough to get angry about something.

| Good effort from bulls. Wires were quite poor we will have to play a lot better against leeds next week.

In fact he looked tired and not himself, wish we could give him a week off as he deserves a break. He knew he had a bad game, he didn't even come over to the fans like he does every game.'"
If you're talking about Menzies, he didn't go to the crowd because he was lined up by Sky for an interview. He did wave to the fans after that, but there wouldn't have been that many left to wave at to be honest.

| Didn't see the game, but lots of positive comments on here is cheering. Let's hope we can begin to start playing with a bit of pride and passion again.

| And the fact there is Wire fans on here saying they didn't play well is a sure fire way of knowing that we did!

I only got round to watching the video yesterday but yes, that was an outrage. It was a blatant obstruction, he cut Menzies off, and menzies was the tackler. Inexplicable decision.
They also want to have a look at the second Higham try. Plunging over from acting half is one thing, a la Lowes or Cunningham, but on that one, he went left, then checked and came back right, around the man playing the ball, using him as a shield. If he hadn't gone the other way first, I would have no problem with it but seemed like a definite case of using the man to me. TBF I am not saying it led to the try as I don't think we would have stopped him as we weren't properly set. But as I understand it, as soon as you run round the back of your own man an obstruction is deemed, whether the defenders would have got you or not. I don't see why different rules should apply on the line.
