Because he's now suspended at the Broncos due to a drink driving offence, and may be looking to leave the country to get away from the press over there?

| If Todd Carney was refused a work permit then would a similar conviction put any application for Alfie Langer in jeapordy?

Not really sure - didn't Carney have multiple convictions rather than just one drink driving offence?

I've got a semi just thinking about that.

Bit drastic fleeing the country for a drink drive offence though, especially to come to Bradford!
I'd love to see him at Odsal but it doesn't seem very likely IMO. But you never know I suppose.

Doubt Hasler would leave Manly or the NRL though

| Only realistic way of signing Hasler would be if he was sacked by the Sea Eagles.

can't really see that happening like more realistic to do what Wigan did and go for an assistant ready to make the leap head coach

Obviously one of the greatest players of his generation but never struck me as someone who would move into coaching successfully. Seems like he has a thirst to go with an alledged liking for gambling.

| rlNothing much concrete hererl. Clearly not ruling in or out, and note the "at this moment in time".
Why even consider the poisoned chalice of the England job, invariably on a hiding to nothing, when you could maybe be in Oz next year? And why stay with Bradford after all the hammering as a coach you have had from the fans, if there are other options? Interesting times ahead I feel...

My take on that article is that he has been interviewed and would consider it if offered. If it was not an option it would be the easiest thing in the world to say so.
Furthermore I suspect he'll take it if its offered, as opposed to [imaybe [/igoing to oz as an assistant and [imaybe [/ibeing offered an extension here. If I were in his position I'd see it as an interesting and relatively safe career move. It will be easier to get another SL job after a few seasons with England than it woul dbe if the Bulls don't renew his contract IMHO.
As you say, interesting times...
