| Quote: Adeybull "icon_razz.gif Nah, the bad luck was getting the Scumster for the play-off at KR end of that season. We went there with (I think it was ) nine first-teamers out through injury, yet were STILL winning till the Scumster send Penguin off for nothing. (Ruled "no case to answer afterwards). Then did not penalise Aitcheson for tripping Robbie on his way to the line. THAT was bad luck!
That was a criminal refereeing performance. How did he get away with it?

Made all the more criminal that he is now in charge of the refs. Explains a lot about standards.

At the time I believed he was settling some old score, and it was the most scandalous action.
Some years later I asked him why he did it, and whether he had any regrets. He said that it was the wrong decision, but he just saw lots of blood on the player he thought Bradley had fouled, and that it was serious foul play. I find it difficult to be convinced by that, especially the speed at which he brandished the red, but suppose his explanation might as well be taken at face value.
I also asked him if he'd spoken to Bradley since about it and apologised, but the answer was basically no. He did sound like he did regret what he'd done, FWIW.

You can't send someone off becuase you think something mgiht have happened. That's even more outrageous.
So he didn't see anything? Appalling.

| Bradley had built up a reputation as a niggly sort or player and obviously Cummings leapt to the wrong conclusion and brandished the red card too quickly. In short he acted like a biased fan rather than a referee.

Bradley was also severely censured and reprimanded by the RFL for remarks made about Cummings in his newspaper column. As he had retired and was thus RFL-impervious, it did seem an odd thing for the RFL to do, especially in the circumstances of Bradley having been found not guilty, despite having had his last game utterly ruined by a rash decision, but then it is the RFL.
Does anyone have a link to Bradley's article?

Wasn't he pursuing a coaching career in the UK at the time though? But it does seem like an RFL ploy. Censure the innocent party and promote the guilty one.

Dunno, don't think so. Pretty sure he was no longer involved in the game. Still utterly pointless, tho.

| Quote: Glenn Morrison, in his blog "I just hope the supporters keep coming along to watch us. It's a very disappointing time for everyone at the club, player, staff, Coaches and supporters alike and it's a very frustrating time for everyone. Believe me we are not too far off being a winning side and the more support we get and the more vocal they are, is really going to help the team at this time. Staying away or turning on us isn't going to help at all. The more support we get is really going to help the team and we really need the fans to come along, get behind us and hopefully we will pay you all back and get to the finals and get a trophy at the end of the year.'"
What he said.

I used to hate Bradley with a passion. He was one of those pantomime bad guys that you don't tend to see much of in SL these days (apart from Ryan Bailey, and Newton in his Wigan career ). There was a game during the Leeds slump year of 1996 in which Mercer clotheslined him WWF style when Leeds were getting a thrashing, and it was clear that he didn't care about being sent-off, he was just happy to put one on Bradley.
The game may be faster and the players more 'professional' (outside Bradford anyway ) but IMO the game is nowhere near as entertaining as a spectacle. I thought we were seeing a return in the recent Saints Leeds game but the players wussed out for the re-match in the CC. Hopefully with Bradford winning against Leeds over Easter the old derby will be reignited because it has been pretty limp since MM, with the biff stopping in about 2003.

As you say it's all very well asking fans to get behind the team but they need to do something on the field to get fans enthused. This needn't be stunning tries, just some obvious higher intensity in our play would help. Coming out and playing as if the game is already over just isn't on.
The performance versus Wire was such that there was nothing for fans to "get behind". Same as away at Wigan. We've also done that in passages of play in other games.
The old excuse about being tired is a bit lame IMO, espcially when you look at how Wakey performed over the same period. There's a club with a similar budget and a comparable standard of playing staff but doing mch better than us this season so far.

| Quote: Lindley Bull "[sizeIn a previous guise I advocated that McNamara was not the man for the job, and now it's clear the players agree with me and have given up listening.
I also advocated using the Bulls website to tell Hood in no uncertain terms that until he was gone you wouldn't return to Odsal (I haven't by the way).
Too many of you defended Mcnamara and Hood, with ridiculous responses like 'who else is there', 'give him more time' etc. etc.
To anyone who knows anything about this game it's clear that the bloke hasn't got a clue, he now cites fatigue after telling us all in the close season we didn't have a real marquee signing (Menzies is past it, though still better than much of what we have!) so we had cover all over the park and each player was learning to fulifill several roles in a poor attempt at a 'Total' rugby approach. So how are we tired, and didn't Warrington have the same schedule???
I wouldn't care if Stuart Duffy took over for the rest of the year, he'd have to do a better job than this turkey - Act now Hood and give a new bloke a chance to recruit for next year now, which is precisely what the Giants did last year and are now reaping the rewards, by the way that was another thing I advocated us doing weeks ago.
With McNamara in charge we will not make the play-offs, I have absolutely no doubt about that. We may not with a change now, particularly if we don't get our man until next year.
So with the blindingly obvious now apparent to everyone, vote with your feet and don't go back until he's gone - You know it makes sense
