I aren't one for trawling through every thread to argue, debate and shout the odds with people. I generally leave it a few hours (and truth be told, a few beers) to come on and look for this post-match thread.
This game comes across to me as a kind of double edged sword. Our attack looked echelons better than the opening three games. Indeed, I believe had we shown this kind of attack against Hull KR and Huddersfield we may well have won, and not found ourselves in this predicament. Although this could well be clutching at straws! I'd still raise considerable questions about 6 & 7 though.
However, for the cost of us being able to attack, our defence seems to have imploded, particularly on the line. Our discipline as well has gone to pot.
We look awfully low on confidence, which I pray is the only difference between a win and a loss. Hull weren't as good as they were last Friday against Hudds, and it's only our inferior performance today which let us down I believe.
I wouldn't possibly be able to predict where our first win will come from, and all night I've had in the pub is "oh, its only four games in". But, how further can you possibly measure the season than where we are at the moment? Which is, a 0% win ratio and a 75% loss ratio.
I don't really know about Macca, you couldn't possibly attribute some of the horrific mistakes on the field today to him, but picking Platt on the bench, is quite bemusing to say the least.
One quick note on Newton, i'm aware he's carrying an injury but he looks terribly unfit. In and around the ruck when he was there, he got caught out very frequently.
Also, an honourable mention to Andy Lynch, who after a 6-month lay-off was absolutely terrific! (end on a positive I say).
