Got off lightly. How can you suspend half of this when making them pay half of a suspended fine from earlier in the season?

It's repeated bad behaviour from the Wakefield support so if they can't control themselves they should pay the full wack.

It's a fine for chanting of a racists and offensive nature. I would imagine the VP stuff comes under offensive

Nah. You can chant the Valley Parade thing as much as you like. It could be behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace, but there's no police in the ground. It should get you thrown out and banned - but we all know the chances of that.

Sadly, in 2016, you can be almost as offensive and objectionable as you like (and every second, thousands of Twitter and FB trolls revel in exactly that behaviour) and one or two sacred cows apart, nothing will nor can be done. People have been given almost carte blanche to be heartless, offensive, ignorant bas-tarrds and seem to be seizing it with relish in droves.

What a copout by the RFL. They should obviously have punished them by reversing the decision of the MPG.

Glad most recognise it's a minority that Wakefield are trying to deal with.
Different security team this year and tighter controls on tickets etc.

It's difficult to identify before it happens but we should be dealing with them after the fact, and as I understand it, the club have tried hard to do that.

I don't like getting a fine but it will make the rest of the supporters more likely to point out the issues

You saying you don't know? Disgusting chants about the VP fire tragedy. Man U perenially face the same sort of thing about the Munich tragedy. There are some real sickos about and always have been but ATEOTD nothing much has been done to stop that sort of disgusting behaviour, except some fine words.

This is sort of easy, but clubs (not just RL) back away from it. Advertise a (potentially) lifetime ban from all sports stadia for such behaviour. It would need the support of the courts as well, but following up with judiciary element and that could stamp out a lot of the unsavoury behaviour we sometimes see at sports events.

Just a thought.
