| Well, the re-signing of Addy and Donaldson, combined with the Gaskell rumour does seem to point to Jamie Langley leaving.
I still feel that FC is trying to turn Addy into a Sinfield-esk type of player, which would give us extra options should he be moved to 13

FC talks that way in the T&A article about Addy's new contract.
I think there's plenty to come from Danny and I'm very happy he's staying. I don't think he's been helped by moving between the pack and the halves, though as the article points out he hasn't missed a game this year, so he must be doing something right!

| Chuffed to bits at this news! I've been banging on for weeks about how we needed to retain Addy, even with the Gaskell rumours. There is no way Gaskell would ever be used in the forwards so for me the comparison isn't there.
If we do sign Gaskell, then it will be for cover in the backs (FB, Centre, HB) and we can still use Addy at Hooker, LF and SR.
Really pleased he's staying. Still young, British, club trained and covers a multitude of positions. It was always a no brainer for me.

Yes for not missing games he's more than made up for it in missed tackles.

| More good news. Could have sworn someone was adamant there was no contract on offer to addy though

| Think you are right mat, went along the lines of.
Addy is off next year as the club have refused to offer him a contract, maybe some aren't as clued up as they think.
Think he has had more good games than bad games this year, if his defense improves he and donno will be rotating LF next year if Langley goes other wise it will be addy and Langley

| 2 people tell me bits of info, one of them hasn't got one right since,I think 2010,time to stop listening to him
Be interesting next season.Lets say Gaskell is signed as a stand off that could also play centre and full back, for positions stand off, scrum half and loose forward,so far we will have
Gale
Sammut
Addy
Gaskell
Donaldson
If all fit which 3 we would be first choice
If you take Leeds success over last 10 years, maybe apart from last couple of years, they have had a settled 6,7 and 13 for most of that time

| I would say Gale/sammut/gaskell 6/7 and donno and addy rotate through LF, unless bateman or olbison are injured i would move donno to 2nd row, really nice to think that our 2nd row/LF players are all under 23.
Would all depend upon whether Langley is on his way, it seems likely but if he stays it will be him and Addy at LF.

A bit unfair on Addy imo. He's as big as a forward and defends in the halves so it's no real wonder he misses a few of the nippy little sods during a game.. It's the curse of the utility guy, I suppose.
For what it's worth, I'd like to see a beefed up addy in the pack, and see how he goes on then, before going overboard too much on the criticism.

| Well lets look at a few facts, % missed tackles
Diskin - 14.5%
Olbison - 13.7%
Langley - 19.7%
Scruton - 18. 2%
L'Estrange - 17.4%
Addy - 12.3%
OK, Addy isn't the best in the team but he's made more tackles than most in the list and missed fewer percentage wise. And, before, anyone suggests that Langley has made more tackles - Langley (461), Addy (576).
The motto, never let the facts get in the way of a good moan!
P.S. Donaldson was round about the same as Addy. Scruton made most tackles in the list - over 650.

Percentage wise he's not missed as many, but the less tackles you make, the higher the percentage will be. half backs, wingers full backs will have a huge missed tackle percentage.
In real Numbers he has missed 71 tackles. 17 more than any other player in the league. He obviously needs to Improve his defence, it's not fans having a moan.
For me he's never a half back, he has the potential to he a decent loose, but needs to work hard on his defence in the off season.
If Whiteheaf had have improved his defence, he would be playing for England now. He didn't and didn't really improve his game and stagnated.

Strange that Scruton amd L'Estrange made more tackles and have a much higher % than Addy. Also, drom the list that I quoted how many weren't fowards?
P.S. Scruton has missed 115 and L'Estrange 99.
As I said, don't let the facts get in the way of a good moan!!!!

Scruton has missed 39 tackles, not 155. He has made 155 marker tackles.
So his miss tackle rate is actually 5.8%
L'Estrange has only missed 47, not 99.
Miss tackle rate of 7.6%
Addy has missed 81 and made 576
Miss tackle rate IS 12.3%

| Addy is a strange player. He is built like a forward, but can kick like a half-back. We also seem to play better with him at stand-off. For some reason, Gale and Sammut don't work as a pairing. It didn't work last year, and it hasn't worked this season. Add Gaskell to the mix, and we have lots of different options in the halves.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would have Gaskell and Sammut in the halves, Addy at loose. Gale has failed to impress me in the last two years and he and Sammut don't work as a partnership. With Gaskell and Sammut, you get the kicking game of Gaskell, and the off-the-cuff play from Sammut. With Gale in the team, Sammut doesn't get the ball enough. We should give Sammut the ball more, let him run at the line, just like he did at the start of the season, before Gale returned.
I would interchange Addy and Donaldson at loose forward, and have Bateman and Ferguson do 80 minutes each in the second row.
