| Nobby is the most successful coach in our club's history.
The squad he left was a mile better than the one we have now.

| What's that got to do with anything?? Brain smith started the ball rolling,Matthew Elliott carried on the good work, noble took over reaped all there rewards and dropped us like a hot stone when Wigan came knocking!!
He didn't do a great deal with them, now he's scratching round for a job!!
Bulls are in this mess now because of how the club was run when he was in charge!

but the club is run by the board and the coach coaches the team.

| Yeah. What we need to remember is the 3 Grand Finals we won in 5 visits, where from 2001-2005 11 teams competed for the right to face us in the GF, all of which of course had nothing to do with Noble. We'll put the WCC and Challenge cup wins down to luck as well. Wigan went from the bottom of super league to within 80 minutes of a grand final on two occasions, which again was clearly nothing to do with his coaching.
He also got Crusaders into the playoffs when most thought they'd finish bottom and has coached his country to a win in Australia, which again shows just what a terrible coach he must be.
He also said on Super Leagues' super men he was forced out of Bradford, I've always thought the idea of him simply walking out on a club he'd been associated with for 30+ years to go to Wigan was rediculous.

So by this logic it's fair to say Michael Maguire 'inherited an awesome squad' that went on to become the current champions......
Noble spent nearly three years putting that squad together and along comes Maguire and reaps the rewards..... Disgusting.....

So taking them from almost relegated to almost OT is not doing a great deal?
Nobby is a good coach. Possibly one of, if not the, best coach of the SL era. The squad he left at Bradford was far from the poorly cobbled together team that McNamara left. In fact, the Bulls side Nobby left was only 80 minutes from a 6th GF
But no, he's a poor coach that has others to thank for his accomplishments

| So lets get this straight then.
Nobby inherits a team that hadn't quite managed to win anything and leads them to numerous tropheys but thats all down to Matty Elliot?
Maguire inherits a team that hadn't quite managed to win anything yet and leads them to a single GF win but thats all down to him and nothing to do with the previous coach?

When did Brown turn anybody into a Champion?
McGuire inherited a good squad and won, therefore he isnt a good coach.

| Nobby is a good coach, that is undeniable, his record proves that, though it's true to say he's had his greatest successes when the club was throwing plenty of money at the squad. However good the squad at Cas he'd be unlikely to be able to bring in the sort of blokes that came to Bradford during his time at the club because Cas don't have that kind of brass.
Some coaches are particularly good at helping superstars hit their peak and others are more adept at getting merely 'good' players to perform above themselves. I'd put Nobby in the first group, and say John Kear, in the second. I guess the board at Cas can take their pick.

If he comes to Cas and makes the same impact as he did at Crusaders we'll be happy. He's out of sight in the fans poll to vote for TMs successor probably because talk of his disciplined/restrictive approach is actually music to our ears after 6 years of regular 50+ losing margins......and contrary to most neutrals perception we hardly set the world alight with ball in hand either.
