| We should be approaching Red Bull. They've got plenty of teams already, built them all new stadiums, and Bradford Red Bulls isn't too much of a name change that would upset people.

For exactly that reason.

It's whether someone like Red Bull would want to invest in RL. I love the game but it's not exactly high profile.
If they did...
The investment needed to improve Odsal and bring in players to make us competetive is peanuts compared to most sports that they invest in.
We're in the top division of a pan European competition and despite struggling in recent years have a good record in SL.
Due to lack of finances and need to invest added to complete lack of form we could be picked up fairly cheap I'd imagine.
To a certain extent RL would fit in with their high energy profile, especially if we can get 'Bull Power' back as it aims at their key demographic (hence the reason why they favour the younger Vettel over Webber in F1)
They can use the old speedway track as a test track for their F1 cars.
Same goes for any investor - get a successful team and a buzz back at Odsal and keep the momentum rolling and there is potential to be massive. The only other pro club in Bradford is City and they aren't exactly looking in great health so there's a chance to develop a more RL focused fanbase in the city if the team actually start competing. Or buy the Bulls and get City free!

| I would happily see a name change to the "Bradford Red Bulls" if they were prepared to invest!

| Ive been in and around Bradford since 1984 now and it saddens me to think that you have major players like Tordoff who puts money into sport but a good old fashioned bradford company that started on Westgate,John street market i think,Morrisions that dont invest in sport.
Ken made his millions from a bradford start and as far as i know has never joined in supporting the citys clubs.

| Or he's got more sense that to chuck his money into a sports club. It's not like they're renowned for being good investments and I think most people who do invest take some role in the day to day running of the club.

| I briefly met Sir Ken at Girlington HQ while I was working there in the late '70s before starting uni, seemed a very nice chap, and as has been said above far too canny with money to invest in a sports club

| Its ok being canny with your money but for those lucky enough to have a squid or 2 isnt it better to give rather than recieve ? and surely his fortune was helped by the good people of bradford, couldnt he feel its right and proper to give a small chunk back?
If i was lucky enough to make a bundle i would like to think that i wouldnt forget where it all started, sadly some people just turn their backs.

Is employing thousands of people in a city which is hardly overflowing with jobs and paying rates to the council on numerous business premises within the district regarded as "turning their backs?".

| What he does with his money is up to him.
I wish he would donate some in our direction, but no-one has any right to tell him he must do so.
If he DID send some our way, the Bantams and Park Avenue (amongst others) would go apoplectic (Keighley are perpetually so anyway so we'd notice little change...), as would every other "deserving cause" in the district who argued their cause was more worthy than a sporting club.
Plus, of course, if he took the chair, he'd doubtless face the same vitriol that the current and previous occupants have suffered from.
I'm not Uncle Ken's biggest fan, and the role of what was then his company in Odsalgate did not impress me one bit. But it's still his dosh to do with as he pleases.
