Whilst it's a trifle bizarre that we are now discussing a football owner on a Rugby League thread, Mr. Tan's example of sacking Cardiff's most successful manager and then watching that team plummet down the Premiership is not one to envy in any sport. However rich he might be.

Well if you have spent umpteen millions in buying a club I suppose it does give you the authority to do what ever you like, it shouldn't but it does, and as they have no ties to the club just see it as a business or in case of RA their play thing they mostly do as they damn well please.

Nobody's mentioned the saddest aspect, which is that the nutcase billionaire changed the shirt colour etc out of nothing more than some superstitious belief in red being a lucky or auspicious colour. So, the same team on the same day will win if they play in red, but lose if they play in blue, I think. The fact of being in a red shirt somehow changes the course of time and cause and effect.

Wearing blue is presumably a huge risk, why wear such an inauspicious colour when it is just as easy to wear red and get the upper hand? Surely, anyone would do such a simple and cheap little thing as lose the blue, go red red red, before spending millions on other ways to improve.

Add to that, it's a WELSH club and the Welsh national teams play in red with a dragon logo, it's not a great leap for Cardiff to do it. In fact, didn't Crusaders do something similar just before they went tits-up?

As for guys like Ashley, they try their best to improve the club but the fans don't want to buy into anything that "goes against tradition". However for most of them traditional also includes not actually winning anything of note in several decades.
