I suspect something has been agreed "behind closed doors", thus not setting a president for transfer fees for players going to the NRL from the UK.

All Connor is hinting at is that there was a lot more to it than is known in the public domain.

I'd love to know what though, as from an outsider point of view, it really does look like he's just been allowed to abandon two years of his contract without anyone being able to do anything about it. Which is f*cking ridiculous.

Well - it does say a compromise has been reached.

Worst case scenario - Orford gets everything he wants and the compromise he makes is that he won't sue us for more for "mental anguish" over the last few months.

Other scenario - no compensation but the compromise is he only gets his basic salary and waives any add-ons, parachute payments, bonus etc which he may have been entitled to.

We will probably never know. As suggested back in oct/nov if we had set his transfer fee at a simple $10-20k we might have saved a lot of money/time/worry
