They also were showing Sam Burgess video highlights.
This was after The Rabbitohs vs Dragons game where Souths won 41 to 6
I'm not trying to cause trouble just passing on information I heard.'"

| Quote: Bullseye "Another factor to consider is that he could go for free depending on what's in his contract. If he has an NRL release clause at the end of 2010 then we'd lose him early and for nowt. If not then he'll be off at the end of 2011. Otherwise we're relying on an NRL club putting their hand in their pocket to the tune of at least £500k and that's unlikely to happen.
The only way I can see him staying is if his circumstances change and he gets hitched to some lovely lass who doesn't want to leave Bradford. I'm not sure if he's single but I hear that debaser and Keith Booaza have plans to dress up as ladies to attempt to seduce young Sam into staying.'"
News travels fast.

Oh dear, if that's the case then I'm afraid Sam will already be on the plane to Aus...

| if i was bulls id try to sell burgess now and get some cash then let him walk away on a free next season.
i know alot of fans want him to stay but think hes already made his mind up about wanting to play in oz as the silence from sam has been deafening and think if non of it was true hed have wanted to set the record straight

| The thing is none of us know if he has got a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for jack all at the end of next year. If he hasn't then it's a terrible idea to even contemplate selling the best player we have, two years in advance of his contracted ending. That would mean we would have to search for a replacement for the next 2 seasons and possibly more who provides the same quality as Sam does and attract him to the club, which will be very hard to come by if not impossible. Losing Burgess would be a massive blow and one that an already weak pack would not be able to deal with.
I to am concerned with the silence from the club and Sam though.

i think its well known he has such a clause in his contract plus the fact his agent has been saying about going for 2011 season to oz so wouldnt say that unless had realse clause.
to be fair think bradford need a scrum half more then we need burgess and who ever we try to sign will not come cheap .so id cash in on him now as dont agree we have a weak pack as next season with hall and lstrange coming in will be a very strong pack plus think scruton is improving all the time.
also if the rumours about ben westwood are true will have a strong 2nd row which is were burgess seema to be playing more these days.
dont get me wrong id love bulls to keep burgess but looking at the bigger picture letting a player who has made his mind up about playing in oz go early so we get some cash for him makes sense.plus dont think bulls want a paul newlove situation again were a players heart is not at the club

But it could backfire if he penetrates their disguises
This thread just makes me sad. Losing Sammy would make me think twice before turning up on the gate. Thank the gods Nero is still with us

Metres per game doesn't really prove much, only howlong you have on the pitch in some cases. His metre per carry stat is quite impressive, and is certainly up there with some of the best.

| Reading the article in the T&A today seems to suggest (very loosley) that Burgess is off.
He said: “I can’t really comment on that (Australia). My immediate future is with Bradford and, unless anything changes, I can’t really say anything."
Surely if he was staying he would have said so. Also he says his immediate future is with the bulls, not his long term future, which suggests he may only have a couple of games left with us. Or on the other hand he is giving nothing away and is yet to decide, but i reckon he is off sooner rather than later. If he wants to go the club cannot stop especially if he has the get out clause for the end of next season, good luck to him. I hope that he is as good and better than Ellis has been down under.
