20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Bradford haven't the money to bring in ready made superstars and over the last few years your recruitment has been pi55 poor in bring in average aussies who have a 3 year maximum shelf life.
You need to do what you did in the 90's and bring in good young players like you did with Paul, Hape, Vainikolo, Fielden, Peacock, Pryce etc.
Getting rid of Burgess has given away a major bargaining chip for signing other players so it's back to square one. Kearney is a decent player but L'Estrange, Hall and Walker are just average in my books and if Bradford want to be a force in years to come not just also rans you need to bring more youngsters through whether they be from other clubs or countries.

What do you mean by bring in?
Unfortunately players like Fielden, Pryce and Peacock do not burst onto the scene each year. We do have some talent in the Academy but some are still a couple of years away from the first team. I expect we'll see a few more in the side next season if we only have a few more announcements to make.
Average NRL players often do very well over here.. Carmont? Richards?

Ho Hum.
Hape and Les were signed in the 2000's.
Peacock, Pryce and Fielden were products of the Bulls Academy.
Robbie was signed at 18, before Superleague, and so is effectively a Bulls product.
The club did not get rid of Burgess, and it was no bargaining chip beyond this year since he was OOC to go the the NRL end next season.
The club has assured it it has been spending to the salary cap in recent years and I believe them. Whether they are able to right now is unclear, and is anyway irrelevant to the point you are seeking to make. If other clubs were engaging in practices which allowed them to get more out of the supposed salary cap, practices which are now under serious scrutiny by HMRC and the RFL, thats up to them. I have been assured Bulls are not.
Menzies and Morrison are far from average, and served/serve a valuable purpose in bringing experience and mentoring - which you need for the young players you are referring to.
Last time I looked, we had not signed anyone called Walker.
The club COULD afford so called ready-made superstars - or at least major stars - we had one called Solomona. As it transpired, most supporters would have settled for an "average Aussie" and very definitely settled for Menzies, and you don't get much more Superstar than that.
Ok, now I've debunked pretty well everything you said, shall we get on to the real issue? Which is that the Bulls are putting a lot of effort into junior development, but there are still short to medium term gaps to be filled. And given packages some British rising stars are commanding, and the frequent need to pay transfer fees which, without a rich sugar daddy we have limited scope to do, the logical course remains to look to the antipodes to plug some of the gaps. Sort of like every other club is doing, including e.g. Leeds who last time I looked had more from overseas than we do despite supposedly championing youth development. And thats before we even start looking at clubs like Wigan.
Now, where were we...?

| Dont know if this has already been mentioned, but in the league express today it says we are going to use the money from Sam to bring in some new players. Could be some promising news.
Another point looking at Bailey's celebrations by throwing his boots into the crowd and beating his badge on Sat night, it seemed pretty obvious it was his last game for leeds I just hope that he isnt coming to us.

19829_1320257469.gif Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_19829.gif |

As long as he's not the only forward we sign, I'd take him on.

Who are we going to sign though
Another prop ? That would surely shove Kopzcak out, whos had a good season imo.
Or a SR. Whitehead and Donno should get more games plus we have hall. All we need in the pack is a big prop imo, then leave it alone and concentrate on our back-line.

Yes but Bailey rarely does, he doesnt make many meters, doesnt break many tackles. I really do not rate him and he also seems like a complete idiot who loves to give it out but doesnt seem like he can take it.

Not a bad player.
And given what else is around, I wouldn't be overly disappointed
