"new proven and experienced coach" Quote from Sky Sports. I can see a bigger name being the next coach. The new coach will have massive responsibility's from day one and for an extended period.

| Henry Paul? Utterly unproven. If we go down the great ex player route again it won't work.
Lowe hasn't coached in decades. His health isn't great either. I don't expect him to be in the UK for long anyway.
It'll be Harrison or someone who's done a bit of coaching in the championship.
If it's a big name I'll be amazed.

Thats a decent shout actually, but I suspect they'll already have someone in mind and I think it might be someone with more experience than Anderson judging from the release, like a Harrison. I'm happy that it sounds like it's not going to be a very recent ex player with no coaching experience.
And to answer Bullseye, no, I'm not surprised really. And at least this is now discussing the fortunes of our club rather than will we have a club! Which in itself is a step forward.

| My shout is Justin Morgan. He was in the NZ set up. Dunno what domestic gig he has.
I was going to suggest Willie Poching. An assistant for a while, was in the NZ set up in 4 Nations and is currently assistant at Salford. NZ/Salford link.

| Naylor - Anderson - Harrison - Morrison - Cummins - Macnamara all classed as experienced keep away from Morgan house/car packages don't come cheap. All those listed would do a job.

| Poching is unproven and would send wrong signals.
Morgan is a bit meh. What's he done lately?
I'm sorry Rohan's gone but sadly not surprised. I suspect he was too expensive since our new owners aren't wealthy men.

"Harrison"Well that would be a surprise. If there was an inckling of such a move to get a Lower division coach. To be fair to Morrison or Kear they have done really well with the budgets that they probably have had to work to. I still think the appointment has to be who the players will recognise (z if it makes it easier) immediately as a leader and who holds a CV that speaks volumes. Its a massive job !

The Henry Paul link, being touted all over Twitter, is SO left-field that it must have some credence. Why would anyone pluck his name out of the ether?
According to www.thenational.ae/sport/gulf-ru ... li-dragons, he has recently been coaching a Sevens team in Dubai. That's going to come in handy when he takes our squad to Rochdale...

| Henry Paul would make them look stupid. He has less experience than Smith and has no track record. Harrison or Anderson would be the best you can do at this stage.

| We dave woods says he's been told to expect jaw-droppingly good appointment and the new coach has proven track record as a coach. Henry Paul would go massively against the statement released just hours a go.

In all truth it is I, Mrs Bongser, who speak of Bongser in the third person. I am his amanuensis. I read out posts to him and interpret his response for your enlightenment. Sadly Bongser is blind...
