Forgive Dettori, he's getting excited.
We could be 10 from 10, I'd agree. But I'd take 3 wins out of the next 6, really.
Just got to keep focus on the game in hand and going to the Grattan will be no easy feat.

| I think and expect that we'll get a 'bounce' from last week.
I'm expecting (hoping?) a win, but I confess to not being confident. A good start is essential, we simply can't afford to let Castleford get a roll on with a couple of early tries. Confidence will be fragile, and we need to win the early arm-wrestle and hopefully get some points on the board to boost it.
I suppose it is something of a modicum of progress after last season that we expect the Bulls to bounce back. Last year we'd have simply settled for another capitulation.

It would be good to see someone different giving the usual suspects a run for their money.
What's Cas' injury list like at the moment?

It's early days and it'll take time to gel. I'm just looking for the players to give a good account of themselves.

| If we push on early then we should get on a roll, If the likes of Lynch, Hargreaves, Elima and Whitehead man up and dominate then we will probably win, however Cas are not a team that turn up to Odsal and get beat 50-0. Gone were the days of beating the likes of Cas and Huddersfield, now we must focus on getting to the playoffs which means winning as many games as possible, hopefully a 3rd win against Cas.

| Quote: jonty23 "The fullback is the last line of defence. It is like saying a goalkeeper does not need to make saves. A good defensive fullback or goalkeeper instils confidence that if the line is breached, there will be someone who can be relied on to save the situation.
Another example was Platt in his last year at Castleford. The best attacking fullback in the game they were saying. What they were not saying was he was the worst defensively. Castleford had the most points against and were relegated.
I just hope none of the Odsal coaches think the same as you.'"
A goalkeeper shouldn't have to make saves. The defence should be good enough to keep the shots on target to 0. same goes for full backs.
The reality is that never happens but you can't slate a full back that can't tackle when he scores and creates much more tries than he lets past. You can't ever defend your line thinking that the full back will bail you out if you make a balls of it.

| rlPotter to ring in the changes against Casrl
Interesting to note that Royston was left out of the team vs Hudds due to a shoulder injury, and Langley is to be assessed on Friday to see if he's fit to play.

| Believe it or not I actually think with cas having a good youth policy see this as a game we could use bateman and donno if fit enough and maybe addy. think whitehead needs to start from bench looks jaded and at minute is topping missed tackles in league and high on errors think he is knackered and needs resting.

| Nothing clear in the T&A article really. Briggs and Donaldson "not too far off" could mean they're not ready for at least another week. Langley 50/50 (at best) and Royston "should" be back.
To me it seems as though Potter is just trying to disrupt Cas' preparation a little by giving them something extra to think about.
If there's an under 20's game prior to Cas that will give us some indication on who might step up from there as anyone set for the first team won't play in that game.
I reckon we'll see Royston back and that'll be it. Hope to be proven wrong though

| The report also says the Sibbit is out.
I realise most on here don't really rate him, but it means we are another person light in terms of selecting the 19. Might mean that someone like Burgess, Bateman or even Donaldson (if ready) could make the bench?

| The crowd will certainly be lifted if Burgess was named on the bench. Most people are dying to see him make his SL debut.

Yes, but only because his name is Burgess.
I've yet to see anything out of Burgess that suggests he's going to be good at SL level. I saw a bit of him last year and I saw him at Keighley this year, and neither time did he impress me. I would certainly play Crossley ahead of him based on what I've seen from both.
I suspect if he was called Tom Smith instead and didn't have any brothers, people wouldn't be so easy to call for him to get picked.
I would love for him to get picked and absolutely rip it up, but based on evidence I've seen from him, I don't think that's likely to happen yet.

Pretty sure the U20s game this week is against Cas and immediately before the first team game on Sunday.

Yeah, I think the trouble is, Sam is such a freak that he was able to tear it up at a young age. If you look at Luke, who's older, he's not really had the impact that Sam has. There's huge weight of expectation on both Tom and George, and I think that could be of detriment to the development of both if they don't come out all guns blazing on their débuts.
