| I had the whitey-ist curry experience of my life in a place called Curry Lounge on Parliament Street in Nottingham last Thursday.
The food was overpriced, served in a gourmet, pretentious style and the menu included items like a "Cheese and Chilli Naan", I had a plane to catch early the next morning so I went for a nice mild dall dish and it landed on my table looking more like a work of art than a food dish.
Only when we were leaving did we realise the place had a curry apartheid system going on, and there was another room seemingly for those with darker skin, which had no cutlery laid out on the table and more than likely a different menu.

Overpriced fish and chips or a lovely Lamb Karahi? Hmm,let me think!

see, I'd have thought for an expert such as yourself, the street name and restaurant name would have set alarm bells ringing

It did, I was only in there against my will, I just didn't realise how horrendous it might be.
I didn't pay though, so I can't be too upset.

Mumtaz with the kids a couple of weeks ago. Horrendous. Sneering waiter, popadoms took 25 minutes to arrive (and were brown and over cooked); less than a minute later the waiter asked if they could bring the main course. When I said no as we'd only just got the popadoms he said 'well your food will be cold then'. A few minutes later we got the drinks we'd ordered 30 minutes earlier, and 10 minutes after we'd finished the popadoms we got the main dishes, which were pretty average. Still, at least the kids got a balloon for the £39 it cost for me and 2 kids eh?
Hadn't been to Omars in quite a while as the food had gone downhill but went with A-fire-inside a couple of weeks back and it was excellent. Went again with the family on Friday and it wasnt. The food itself was ok - I'd asked for my chicken & keema to be hot and it was very mild but still nice; the missus had a rogan josh which she thought was very bland and we'd ordered a Jaipuri Punjabi special for the eldest asking for it to be very mild but it was by far the spiciest. Worst bit was the service though, we waited ages for our food with two groups who ordered after us having finished their starters and main courses before we even got ours despite asking a couple of times. We only got the kids drinks after asking again - after the starters had come.
Reckon we'll give the LL Sweet Centre a go next time.

| Went to the Prashad again last night, it was absolutely excellent. Started with three "roadside snacks" as they're dubbed on the menu. A puhri, some strange round things and some sort of shredded samosa. Sounds odd I know but they were all delicious.
For mains we had three curries, a chick pea one, a channa daal and something with aubergines. One of us also had the curry thing in a type of Pancake that Gare Girl had tyhe other week. All were excellent. I really recommend this place as it's totally different being as it is Gujerati and South Indian cuisine instead of the usual Pakistani influences.
4 people having starters, mains, 8 chappatis, one naan and a bowl of rice and one mango lassi came to £35. Bargain. It's open every day apart from Monday.
All made for a really nice meal

1589.jpg when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.:1589.jpg |

| All kinds of animals go missing on Horton Grange Road. I imagine most of them just get stuck in the wheel arches of trucks bombing down Horton Grange Road.
