| Rumour has it, according to Mr Gledhill that the new Championship broadcasting deal will see games played on Thursday, Monday and Tuesday nights. Obviously great to have a TV deal but it'll be interesting to see how that works out for season ticket sales and player availability.
Wonder if they will look to go down the streaming route and be shown on amazon for example?

Well that's Sheffield going bust then. They won't allow their players to play during the week due to player welfare will they...

Ignore mick, as usual.
Games will be broadcast on Mondays on premier sports. One game a week. It’s not all it’s made out to be.

| have they announced number of fixtures next year yet? Is it back to everyone home and away Plus summer bash or is it like this year not playing everyone twice?.
With premier deal announced want to work out whether a season ticket makes financial sense. Very little chance of attending Monday night games due to work commitments. I'm assuming it wouldn't take many Monday night games missed to make it more sensible to pay on gate rather than get a season ticket.
Doubt RFL will arrange it fairly and have everyone featuring on Mondays the same amount of times and they will let Premier cherry pick the more attractive fixtures for Mondays. So you would think ourselves and other more recognisable names like fax, leigh and fev will probably feature more than our fair share. Haven't heard anything about any money changing hands for the TV rights so doubt clubs are getting any payments to compensate for reduced attendances either.

| I wonder if there is going to be any kind of cap on the number of games that are shown on Premier on a Monday night? Seems a bit counter productive having free junior season tickets but possibly having 2 or 3 of the best games on a Monday evening.
The reaction seems underwhelming so far from RL supporters, I'm not sure they will get many new subscribers at £13 a month unless they put some deals together.

So key thing is going to be how may times we're scheduled for a Monday. I'm guessing the fixtures wont be released until after the earlybird deadline either. No doubt I'll end up just getting a season ticket out of some sense of misguided loyalty as I usually do

| TBH moving fixtures to accommodate TV isn’t a new problem
I think I also read something that there would be some kind of offer to st Holders in terms of subscription costs

Apparently it's a 'six figure sum' for the rights which puts it somewhere between £100K and £999K, but I'd be amazed if it isn't at the lower end. It's being suggested by Martyn Sadler that it will be scaled based on finishing positions.

Sadler mentioned 'a few hundred grand' in one of his posts so that suggests around 300k and doesn't specify whether thats per year of for the whole two years. Id imagine the scaling portion kicks in depending on how may time a team features on a monday. so every team gets a small amount up front and then extra payments to the teams appearing on tv ( and taking hit on attendances). You would assume they will be sensible about kickoff times and make it 7:30-8:30 so at least people working have a chance of attending. IF they do something ridiculous like 6pm kickoff then hit to attendance will be massive.

| It's £200k. Clubs will receive around £6k each. It's not much is it? Clubs will need to really sell the fact that they're being televised to sponsors or they'll be out of pocket.

| Wow, so we've 'sold' the TV rights for 100K a year? Maybe the pizza deals wasn't so bad afterall!!
Is the sport really THAT unattractive to a broadcaster that we cannot give it away? What a sad state of affairs, future looks bleak long term for Championship.

It's a 2 year deal. 2 x 100K = 200K Or there or thereabouts. On a channel with limited exposure it's better than nothing but not by much.

| Likewise, we’ve sold tv rights for £200k to a league that previously was not shown and was thrown in as a freebie to the last broadcaster who didn’t want to show it even for free.
Super league sold the elite league sponsorship for free pizza or free advertising on a handful of lorries.
Super league has sold the elite league tv rights for a fraction of the last deal putting 10s of clubs at risk of financial ruin because the deal is so far reduced.
All about phasing and if you cup is half full or you’ve sold your cup to cut your cloth
