| Maybe the clause was £20k and they offered £10k but made it clear that if we dug our heels in they would and after all Evans does appear to have wanted to go, understandably! Let’s be honest we all have no idea

| It wouldn't be the first time two totally unrelated transfer deals were linked together to try and appease those who can't put 2 and 2 together very well.
There was one a couple of years ago which I unfortunately forget the clubs or players involved. The clubs announced a "swap deal" for a player each, neglecting to mention the fact that both of the players swapped were out of contract anyway and could have moved regardless. But both clubs looked to the casual fan like they were getting a player in exchange for the one they were losing, so most people were happy about it.
Of course we don't know the details of the clause and there is a chance it had a "Can leave for a Super League club for *this* fee", but I'd highly doubt it.
Regardless, it is what it is though. If we were going to get young players out of it, we can certainly do worse than Walters and Holroyd. Holroyd I saw play for the U16s against Bradford not all that long ago at Stanningley and he was absolutely massive compared to everyone else on the pitch. Walters I believe was the one that Leeds signed when Widnes were in administration and needed funds. He was supposed to be very highly rated when they did. I do worry about the lack of experience in the team though, especially when you remember that season after liquidation.

| Quote: Betsy Bulls "Let’s not forget that there’s always the possibility that if we don’t play ball over Evans they might decide not to send these lads, depends on how concrete the deal was for the youngsters in terms of signed or just verbal. We seem to have a good relationship with Leeds ATM so maybe both sides are working together. Let’s be honest with no DR looking likely we need a club willing to help us'"
To be honest mate, if we do get a couple of season loanees from Leeds, we might need to ask if we really need DR. After all we can only play five loan/Dr players in a team at once.

| Agreed. It would be a nice to have someone just in case injuries really bit. I’m also sure I read JK saying he had a decent centre lined up on loan but was waiting for a DR decision as this impacted whether he took him or not, probs down to 5 limit. Let’s hope that can be resurrected

Finally, someone pointed that out so we probably had little choice and if we get a few decent lads back and still hold his contract then so be it.

| So the bottom line (according to the updates Squad List thread) we have 19 people in the first team squad
Two are currently injured (Hodgson, Farrell), one is suspended (Flanagan) and one lad hasn't ever played in a competitive first team game (Shackleton)
We're going to need a few more people than a couple of Rhinos loanees...

| Can anyone explain to me why Evans has gone "on loan"? Why hasn´t he signed a one year contract? Does this mean that if Leeds decide he is surplus to requirements (or gets crocked for the rest of the season) that they can terminate the loan and send him back to us? Or is he contracted to the Bulls for the 2021 season and will return to us at the end of this coming season?

If he's contracted to the Bulls for 2021 he'll return unless any release clauses (such as interest from a SL club) are activated. As for coming back during 2020 that will depend on whether any termination clause that may have been included in the loan agreement is met/activated.

Evans isn't contracted for 2021.

It's something to do with getting transfers through quicker. I don't know the ins and outs, but other clubs have done it in the past (Chisholm to Fev last year for example, Roche to Bradford) when there's every intention of it being a permanent signing but they start out on loan while it gets sorted. That way they can join immediately. I've genuinely never seen the exact thinking behind it, but it's something along those lines.
I don't think for a minute it's anything to do with him being recalled and fully expect it'll be a permanent transfer in the next month or two.

Not sure it's to make things happen quicker but probably more of a 'trial' to see if both parties 'fit'

or more a case of seeing if Evans can stay fit. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets injured and they terminate loan deal and we're left paying for a injured player. Likewise with the incoming leeds players, would these be season long loan deals with a recall option after first month? so really just a rolling loan to keep them match fit for when leeds need them.

| Send in a question to ask the bulls. If it’s a genuine season long loan there will be no recall option, injured or not is my understanding

| I think it’s a play on words, he is contracted to bradford till the end of 2020, so in effect no matter what he is no longer a bulls player

| On the subject of those leaving (or left), League Express have done a "Rookies to excite us in 2020" feature, picking one from each Super League club. Huddersfield's is Oliver Wilson and Hull KR's is Matthew Storton. Both sold in the last 12 months to pay the Bradford bills.

| Still can’t believe where we are with the season just around the corner, still no news on duel reg possibilities, all the players who have left and still leaving and we have replaced them with 3 signings, 100% bottom four, at best
