Problem with a swap deal is it needs to be for a player in a position we need. Talk of Clare and Ryan when we're reasonably strong in backs doesn't address weakness in squad which is going to be made worse if Scurr does go. If Scurr does go we'd be better off with cash to allow us to replace like for like.

Hallas wouldn’t be a bad shout. He’s solid in the middle. And can give a good pass from 1st receiver to play wider. Plus it means Baldwinson and Evans can play as out and out props.

Scurr has barely played this season anyway hasn't he? Not exactly pulling up trees either. If he wants away then the best thing to do is bite the bullet and get a transfer fee for him while we still can.

Can’t see anyone wanting to pay a fee if they didn’t want to in Nov. I just wonder if this swap idea will see us waive a fee but get a player in who will continue to be paid by his current club but which will seem a good cash flow scenario that suits all.
