My eight year old nephews are stuck in the tastes of twenty years ago too. I'm embarrassed for them and I'm embarrassed for you.

We were once at a game with Cas at Leigh when one of their elderly fans exclaimed in exasperation (try it in a comedy Lancashire accent) "You've not got t'brains God gave geese". It's stuck with me for over 25 years.

I'll never forget a game against Wigan and as Shaun Edwards stood on the touchline waiting for a kickoff, a tiny old octogenarian with no teeth and flat cap screamed:

"EDWARDS!! If my dog wor as ugly as thee, I'd shave its arrse an make it walk backwards!!!"

Not a huge amount. I like some things (The Fall, Magazine, Barry Adamson, and I've had Inspiral Carpet's Saturn V stuck in my head on and off for twenty years or so), but the Stone Roses thing turned into hagiography and a pox on that kind of thing. Anyone with an Oasis haircut in 2013 wants shooting. This is unfortunately every band of young lads under the age of 20 I've seen down at [url=http://oldchapelleeds.com/default.aspxOld Chapel[/url in the last fifteen years.

The Stone Roses first album is a classic IMO. However it has been played to death so I haven't wanted to listen to it for at least a decade.

Saturn V happened to be the first song played at my wedding reception.

That's weird, I think I have Saturn V in my head more often than any other song too. I still don't know the words properly so have to mmmmmm those bits.

And now, thanks to this, it is back in my head again.

It's a great album. But if everyone who now claims to have been at Spike Island all stood at one end of the country it'd flip over and land on our heads.

If every one who claimed to be at Leeds Uni when The Who played their first gig there, then the refectory would have fallen through the earth's crust.
