19829_1320257469.gif Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_19829.gif |

| Surely when Sam departs we have to replace him with another prop at least.

If he does, depart sooner rather than later, then surley they don't think they can get by on, Lynch, Koppy, Scrutes and Hall, that's not good enough..
What do peeps make of this statement by Macca?

I would have to say that Lynch, Scruton and Hall would be up there with the best 3 props at most other clubs.
But it would be good to have a big BIG impact prop to come off the bench.

Lynch, yes, Scrutes and Hall, No. Scruton has been a dissapointment for mine, and Hall simply isn't that good for mine.

Scruton looks to be finding his feet after an average start. But now,his defence looks good with some big hits being put in. He regularly puts his hand up for work making good yards and is busting tackles too. I think you need to give him some more time
Hall again is a good performing player and I think you will be surprised by what we get from him
If we get one more to go with that, an impact prop has been asked for that would be a good front row to go to battle with - best pack in SL?

Yeah he may be finding his feet, but on the whole he's still be pretty dissapoinnting. I've watched Hall for years, when he's managed to get a game before his Manly career, he's been nothing but a plodder, he still is as far as I'm concerned though. I can safely say, I will not be surprised with Hall.
If Burgess stays, and we can get another prop, then yes, I'd be tempted to change my stance a little, but if he leaves, then Lynch, Koppy, Scrutes, and Hall is a long way short of the high standard required. We've struggled to match up this season, losing Burgess and leaving us with only those would not be enough.

| Scruton has impressed me lately, he's getting better and better. Hall will have to convince me next season, he looks more of a back-rower when i've seen him lpay though.

That's not hard after his early season form. But IMO he still has been a massive disappointment considering the sort of money he will be on.

If he continues his current form next season (consistently) then he may be worth it, at least he's not one of the ones who seems not to put any effort in. I think Newtons been our least value for money this season, given he'll be one of our highest earners.

No I wouldn't.
He's overrated for a start off. He was garbage earlier this season and for much of last.

He wasnt the best last year, mainly due to him being shot at in pre season and he wasnt there mentally, so no wonder he struggled to play rugby. beginning of the season he was playing stand off which he had never played before, so therefore his form was not fantastic. since being moved back to fullback he has being practically unstopable, he averages about 10 tackle busts per game, and makes 3.5 line breaks per game. If you have seen any of his last 15 or so games you will realise he is not overated and is pretty decent. In my opinion he is better than Burgess will ever be. When he plays for oz in the autumn you will see.
